    Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum. I have an 04 Tacoma and I noticed my frame was perforated near the leaf springs this week. I got the undercoat treatment at a dealer in 2011 and assumed it would be ok. I called Toyota and they said that the warranty on the frame expired March 31, 2016 (of course it did, because I spent $1500 on needed repairs that week).

I have also heard from reading some of these forums that if you go to the dealer and get the treatment done, it extends your warranty to 15 years from the date the car hit the road. It is an 04, so it hit the road in 03, which would give me until 2018. This contradicts the information Erin at Toyota told me. Can someone give me some clarity? I am kind of freaking out about not having a vehicle and/or having to replace it.

    Thanks,
    Mike in Boston

You can try Toyota Corp. Otherwise find a welding shop that can do the repair.

    Reserected from the dead.
Did you actually go to a dealer? I think you should get a second opinion. Dealers like to do frame swaps, they pay very good.

Thanks. I called corporate because my mechanic told me dealers make profit off of this stuff. My mechanic is not a Toyota dealer and I have absolute trust in him. I called Toyota, gave the woman at corp my VIN and she asked what I hoped to get out of this exchange. I told her that I was hoping they could do something because my frame rotting after a dealer "took care of it" was not acceptable. She told me there was nothing they could do because the warranty expired 2 months ago.

What you just stated makes not sense, unless they thought you have a 2001-2002 Tacoma. I would call a dealer with your vin# and have them verify it was sprayed and the manufacture date.
