im ordering tires tomorrow. I have 265/70/16 on my truck now.

I want to go up one size.
Stock truck other than a 1.25 level in the front end.

    Will I rub?

Going up to a 285? With a 1.25" leveling kit? They won't rub, because they won't fit. There's about a thousand threads on this forum about this same question.

Seems alot of people dont understand that you dont clear tires with a standard 3" lift. The ride height is raised but the travel is still the same (unless your running spacers). 33s will and have fit with no lift at all by doing minor triming and pinch weld mod (12.5 wides will need more backspacing and a little more trimming because of it.)

Not sure what you mean by one tire size. You could put 265/75r16 tires on, those are about 32" diameter. You will rub a little, but trim the fender liner a bit on the spots that rub and you'll be good. I wouldn't go up to 285/75r16 until you're ready to do some pinch weld bashing and whatnot.

There is no amount of trimming or or pinch weld modifications I could have done to have gotten my 33's to fit under my truck prior to the lift

2nd Gen. Can you get 33s under a 1st gen? I know there used to be a lot more room in the fender in my '94 pickup

I honestly just wouldn't want 33s (well at least 285s) under a stock suspension, if nothing else for cosmetic reasons. Just wouldn't look proportional imo

Well I'm talking about 265/75/16. I don't wanna go wider. It would only add half an inch. I'm just talking about going taller.

No issues with my 265/75/16s rubbing, suspension is stock springs with front 5100s set at 1.85 to level the truck.
