so i have my truck stock for the most part, but would like to make it into as street liegle as possible trophy truck or prerunner what ever you like to call it. my trucks an 09' tacoma access cab 4x4 v6. and i want to put some big beefy tires but not too high that i get horrible mileage that i should just get a jeep. i was thinking 11.5 to a 12 in width and either a size 33 or 35. what are the ups and downs to each size as well as performance and mpg. any help would be sweet.

Taller tires reduce your overall gear ratio from engine to the ground so you compensate by adjusting your differential gears.

My head is spinning. So the title is about MPG's but your asking how big of a tire you can get because you want to be a street legal trophy truck? You do know that tires do not make it a trophy truck right? And the word your looking for is legal

Bigger tires = worse gas mileage. It's that simple.
    You gotta pay to play.

Honestly, regearing only marginally helps you around town (in terms of gas mileage) and only if you have a light foot. It doesn't help you at all the freeway (in fact you'll get worse due to running higher RPM at cruise speed).

Slap some 37" bfg t/a's on it and call it a day, trophy truck stats fo sho bro!

265/75/16 is biggest u could go with out trimming and lifting (might need small lift not sure) or 285/75/16 with some trimming/body mount chop and some lift. Guys are running the next size up too but it all depends how much u wanna spend to make it work properly.

Also is this just for looks or do u plan on using it?
