Hello, I have a MTX 4004 AMP that i want to install on my Tacoma. Here are the specs of the AMP:

    Amplifier Type Multi Channels
    Bridgable Bridgable (to 200w)
    RMS Power at 4 Ohms 50 W x 4
    RMS Power at 2 Ohms 100 W x 4
    Performance
Signal to Noise Ratio 80 dB
THD at Rated RMS Power 0.03 %
    Crossover / Equalizer
    Bass Boost With Bass Boost

My question is how to wire the stock speakers into the new AMP. I think i should connect each speaker to the ports marked on the AMP Right Front + - Left Front + - etc... But what about the factory tweeters? where do i connect those? also there is an RCA cable that was already on my truck for the front, do i need to run another RCA cable for the back?

Also there is a Kicker Subwoofer installed on the back, but its not connected, do i need to connect it to another AMP or can i use the same one?

    Thanks

I'n not familiar with wiring amps to speakers. But as far as the sub, you should be able to wire it to that amp depending on how much wattage the amp/sub is. Just bridge the two where it says bridge.

Your tweeters should already be wired off of the midrange speakers in the doors. With the power of that amp, you will want to run new speaker wires into your doors. Then unplug the factory harness at the midranges and connect your new speaker wire.

If you have an additional rca out from your deck, you will want to run another set of rca cables for the sub. Connect the second rca to the rear input on the amp and then bridge the rear speaker output to the sub. It looks like you will be able to use the amp's crossover to control what goes to the door speakers and to the sub.

As far as amp connections to the door speakers, you were correct in your assumption.

By the way, my suggestions above apply to just front speakers and a sub. If you are running front speakers, rear speakers and the sub, then you will use front and rear outputs on the amp for the front and rear speakers and then an additional sub amp with rca's from the sum out on the MTX

    Good luck

Thanks for the help, could you please explain what do you mean with bridging the sub? where exactly do i need to connect the cables from the amp?

    Thanks!

In the picture you posted of the amp that shows the speaker connections, if you look above those connection points it says 'bridged' and has a line going to a '+' terminal and '-' terminal. For your front speakers you will connect using all four terminals on the top (front) row. On the bottom (rear) row of terminals, you will only use the far left and far right terminals. Connect your '+' wire from your sub to the '+' terminal that the 'bridged' line is drawn to and do the same for your '-' wire from the sub. You are combining both rear channels into a single channel by bridging.

Here is a link for the owners manual for that amp.

So i did everything like the manual and you guys told me, the front speakers sound amazing! however the Sub in the back is not working.

I have double checked all the connections + on the sub going to + on the AMP (Rear where it says bridge) and vice versa with negatives. i have checked the back of my head unit to make sure the RCA cables are properly connected and nothing. I have tried them in the SUB position and the Rear position and still nothing.

Also my Amp has a 2 channel, 4 channel button i had tried turning that to 2 and 4 and nothing.

The Sub looks brand new it was there when i bought the truck but its a 10 in Kicker sub.

Also i have this system installed on my truck, i think is to be able to connect the stereo to the stock JBL AMP.

I don't know if its weird but when i remove the rear RCA cable the tweeters stop working as well as the rear speakers. Is that normal?

    Thanks for the help!
