It's an old drop bracket lift (you can see the spacers on the spindle). The name is escaping me though. Piece of shit.

If the mechanics does not know what lift that is.... Its time to search for a new mechanic. Its the basic of lift.

It's not purely a spacer lift. It's a DB lift...which typically have options. The cheapest is to add spacers on the coils and spindles to match the drop bracket.
OP...take a picture of the front. You should see a bracket that drops the front diff down.

No. That was the biggest piece of shit DB lift made. It didn't utilize a UCA. it had some funky thing that hung off the top and attached to the spindle making it act like a strut instead of a dual arm coilover setup.

The one pictured is an aftermarket UCA and a DB lift.
Would be really nice if the OP mentioned what year.....

In other words you'll be spending some money in the near future. Not the best lift and most of tw would advise against these lifts.

It is a 1998, so are you saying it was not a good drop bracket? Even back in the day?

My brother has that lift on his 01 yota. Terrible lift 4 inch spacers and ball joint spacers and 3 inch blocks.

Why is it considered a bad lift? Is it cause of high maintenance or poor quality?

looks like a uniball uca which is decent

but the giant spacers aren't a good sign of a "quality" lift

like lifting the truck for the sake of lifting it; not really gaining anything but height. try take a picture of the bottom of the front of the truck; a frontal with emphasis on the area around the diff and we can tell you exactly what you have (A couple more pics would be nice)

we can tell you what's going on out back too

be glad it isnt a trailmaster lift, at least. lol

those coils look like they'll bind after just a few inches of uptravel
