    Hope you're correct and there is a logical answer to the contradiction of mileage.
    I'll find out tomorrow what the dealer says. Could be just a foolish glitch. We'll see.

    The Mileage since the last code reset is correct.
    The Problem?
    The Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Inspection program
    used Kilometers instead of miles.
    It was a glitch in their software. And there was no indication
    whether it was in miles or kilometers. The dealer was very
    concerned about the discrepancy too. Until they found out it
    was a software problem.
    It's all good.........

    I may be wrong but OBD II vehicles store the mileage in the ECM and if the cluster is changed and not set properly it will flash a code. So it is tougher, not impossible, but definitely more work to roll back mileage nowadays.
