So this is frustrating. I bought some advertised 884s on craigslist months ago and finally got around to installing them. I didn't even think to look closely at them, but I got suspicious when I compared them to the stock springs off my base model. New spring is on top.

They look almost identical to the stock springs but must have a higher spring rate, because they did indeed lift my 4 banger a little over 1" on the 0 setting of my 5100s. However, they are clearly not 884s as they are about 25mm too short and 2 wraps shy, as well as not giving the lift 884s should. Now I'm just curious as to what the hell they are. I'm thinking maybe moog??
In any case, needless to say I'm disappointed and trying to contact seller for a resolution. In the mean time, I ended up leaving these on, setting 5100s to .85, and putting 1/4" spacer on driver's side. I now sit at just over 2" lift and the ride is fine. If this just ends up being an $85 life lesson, that's fine.
