Hi, I own a 2017 Double cab Taco and started noticing this “clicking” noise on my driver side door every time I open or shut it. To me it sounds like “metal is hitting on metal”. Haven’t done any modifications to the fenders, door, no accident etc.

I created a little sound clip and I’m hoping you guys would be able to help me identify this noise. Thank you.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    I don't hear a squeaking sound - more like a "click."
Have you tried lubricating the mechanism with the detents that hold the door at various degrees of open?

Is all the hardware tight on the mechanisms? I also hear it as more of a clicking, which sometimes happens when loose hardware allows linkages and mechanisms to shift slightly. In other words, the bolts are a touch loose and things have a little play

Yeah I agree with you. It’s more of a clicking sound for sure. I haven’t lubricated anything yet. At first I thought my door was hitting the fender or the mechanism could be bent?

I had a new Honda a few years back with a similar popping noise as the door opened.
It was the door edge rubbing on the fender as it swung open.
I'd check for paint damage along the front edge of the door and watch the door clearance as it's opening.

These 2 gold colored nuts were very loose. Fixed the issue!
