97 3rz with dual coil packs. P0325 and I pulled the knock sensor and it was damaged. Looking online has me frustrated. I need this knock sensor. If anyone can help me identify THIS sensor and it's manufacturer. They all look different online.20230205_155101.jpg

    I can’t make out the #

Take an old tooth brush and clean the # up.
If you can get the # that would help.
It’s a bit blurry in your picture.

Or do I like just did, go to RockAuto and “match it”?
But the part # will help verify it.

Honestly it's not much better in real life. I'll pull it back off and clean it. Maybe see for more identification marks. Maybe a day or 2 after this rain clears out.

Go to RockAuto and see if you can find one like it.

Go to the dealer and get a new one.....
......everything that touches your engine computer should be oem.....
    not oem'ish...........

Maybe get some electronics cleaner.....and clean connector too....

you can double check everything while your in there.

Knock sensors tend to last forever........most on taco's are damaged when breaking that back banjo bolt on the fuel filter.........half time its the owner........

A shop broke it doing the fuel filter. Why can everyone say all kinds of smart stuff except what the knock sensors manufacturer is?

They just shoved it back up in there and when I pulled out the cel came on so the following weekend I started digging and there it is. If it's denso or mitsuboshi or ngk it's too expensive to not get right. The vendors are vague and no one really seems to know. "Use oem"....IM TRYIN DAMMIT

    Ok, I did some research.
Knowing that Toyota used Bosch, Denso, and NGK as OE parts suppliers, I went to work finding who made a sensor like yours.

The only company out of those 3 was NGK / NTK.
    https://www.ngk.com/ntk-72787-id0263-knock-sensor

This is as good as I can do for you buddy.
    I’m out of ideas…..

You are a real g. I WILL let everyone know what the results of this are. I'm probably going to order the sensor and install it within the next 10 days.

Alright so I talked to a guy a yota shop. Ngk, matsushita denso and maybe another one made them and whatever the factory had supply of is what they put on the motor. They are made to toyotas standards and as such should all work provided they are part number 89615 50010. For 2.4 and 2.7. I'm pretty sure a couple of other engines used this part. Not the v6 tho those are different. Anyways I called a local toyota dealer and confirmed this with the parts department. They sent me a matsushita one and I'll let everyone know when that bish comes in what's really going on

The Tacoma 5VZ used a couple of suppliers. Your 3RZ would have come with a Matsushita sensor, part number 89615-50010. The Denso alternative would be 89615-26010.

Toyota occasionally uses NGK for spark plugs, but not much else.

    Thanks Jeff.

Toyota definitely does some odd stuff.
My 1GR had 3 NGK and 3 Denso plugs in it from the factory.

I ran down that rabbit hole once.
Should anyone else want to, I’d start with the common shareholders of the 3
    NGK, Denso, and Toyota

My theory is, business relationships and money.

Are there just different manufactures but all will work?..or are the plugs totally different?

    Different manufacturers, same spec.

The 1GR-FE in the Tacoma is the only factory engine I’ve seen in North America that came with NGK plugs, and also the only engine I’ve ever seen with two different manufacturers’ plugs installed.

Yeah, it’s definitely a WTF moment when you change them the first time.
3 of the same in 1 head, 3 of the other in the other head.
