What are these plugs intended for? They are both on the upper driver side fender well. One is right next to the fuse box and the other is underneath the charcoal canister. This is a 2001 Prerunner. I assume they may go to some 4wd or manual transmission components. The one by the charcoal canister is an oval shaped plug. The one by the fuse box is more square with rounded corners.

@Empty_Lord asked about the same thing in the lunchtable thread, but it's impossible to find that post, so I'm tagging him.

Thanks man. Yeah, that thread is a shit show in terms of searchability(real word?) and organization.

I'm 12 pages behind if I go away for lunch, lol

I wish there was a search feature for search specific threads.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
One is for the tvip buzzer. The one closer to the firewall is unknown. No mention of it in any manual. Likely a test wire

That red wire looks like a 8 gauge positive wire to the battery for an amp. Check to see if it has a fuse and goes through the firewall. (fuse could have been cut)

Thank you for the info. I was thinking that I read the TVIP system had a plug in that area, but I wasn’t positive bc it’s been forever since I was reading into those. It’s Strange that the one plug has no known use.

You’re correct on this, but that’s not the part I was curious about. Definitely sounds like you’ve wired an amplifier or two though.

Oh lol my bad, I hope you have it hooked up and not snipped in the cab, When I got my truck, I had 4 gauge just sitting in the cab waiting to start a fire. Coincidentally, it got taken off the battery the same day.

I went out and looked, but my 2000 does not seem to have either connector in the engine bay.
