I have a 2012 TRD Double Cab Off-Road. It's an auto with the factory E-Locker, and tow package. The data plate gives the A/TM code A04C/A750F. Best I can decipher it means I have a 7.5" Ring Gear, 4.56 Ratio, and 2 Pinion OEM Limited Slip.
The 7.5" ring gear has me a bit confused. I though the OR's came with the 8" ring gear. Can someone please help clear my head on this? I also thought in 2012 Tacoma's were made in Texas, but this says made in Mexico...WTF

Are these codes for the rear diff only, or are they the same for the front diff?

Good, question. I don't know where the codes for the front are, or if there is just one type for the 4WD's.

Hi OP, just came across this thread & I have the same gear ratio on my truck. It looks like you are running 3inch lift with 33s on your Taco. I'm planning to do the same.

Have you felt the need to regear? Does it handle the lift and 33s well?

I am on a 3" lift with 33s, but I actually have regeared the truck from the stock 3.73 gears to 4.56 from ECGS. I wheeled it pretty hard on the stock gears without any major issues and know several folks that are still running stock gears on 33s. I opted to up the ratio because I plan to go to 35s in the near future. Though I'm not upset at all with the power 4.56 gears deliver on 33s! If you can swing the coin I think it is worthwhile to upgrade, though it is not mandatory for 33" tires.
