My uncle gave a woman money because my cousin hit her car (very minor). Few weeks later she filed a claim through insurance. That sucked.

At an average of $400 per accident, that's only 37 more accidents til your truck is paid off. So, with 1 accident every 3 weeks, that's 2.13 years till it's paid off.

I just read the other thread with the Mercedes. It's amazing that neither of you drunk driving doing 95 killed anyone. That we know of..

You're supposedly in law school and are under the assumption that you are above the law...unfortunately for a lot of minor things you will be, that's just how the lack of justice system works these days.

But had you injured someone on your 95mph back streets buzzed street justice pursuit, there's some things you won't get away with.

So, just try and think for a few seconds longer after your next crash before doing something silly. Scratches are not worth jeopardizing someone's life.

And hopefully your agreement with this father works out for both parties in the end.

got some nice racing stripes for free! I'd rather have a car with no scratches than $800

So was it worth it? Chasing the kid down and endangering lives over some rubbing alcohol and a wax?

I absolutely never thought what I did that night was intelligent, HOWEVER, it did get him to stop his drunk driving rampage that night, and it did end up getting him arrested. I am not in law school, i work part time and go to school for business and accounting (i run an exterior painting crew in the summer) which involves business law and law of contracts classes, and low and behold it has helped me in life.

Yeah actually it was because he hit a couple other people that night and atleast I got him to stop vs him continuing on that night and killing someone.

Aaaaaand if I hadn't chased him that night he would not have been arrested a couple day later. He didnt get a DUI but he did get a few hit and runs, and a bunc
I never did start a 2nd thread about this? The thread you're commenting on is a completely separate accident all I did was ask about people's experience with frame damage from a rear end collision.

And when you ask the general public a question, you will get every answer or non answer.... you know people are curious and want know the whole story to better help you with your posed question, if not it leads to speculation (that never goes well). Even when the rest gets told, it will always lead to speculation, judgement and last but not least criticism. All three are hard pills to swallow.
Good luck on future driving in that town you live in and maybe start thinking about caging that truck. People are dangerous in your little corner of paradise.:proposetoast:
