Ah, yes, Central Bureau of LAPD. I spent a month there in 1992 sleeping on the office floor of then Deputy Chief and later LAPD Chief Bernard Parks. On April 3, 2020, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers from Central Traffic Division responded to a hit and run traffic collision at the intersection of Broadway and 43rd Street in Newton Area. The collision involved a pedestrian who was crossing Broadway in a marked crosswalk at 43rd Street. According to witnesses, the driver of a 2014 to 2020 white Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound on Broadway and failed to stop for a red light when he collided with the pedestrian. The Toyota fled the scene without identifying himself or rendering aid to the severely injured pedestrian. The truck has a cargo roof rack, black rims, and a bed cover.

The pedestrian, described as a 40-year-old male Hispanic, suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries and was taken to local hospital by paramedics from the Los Angeles City Fire Department. He was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit with severe injuries. As of today, the pedestrian is out of ICU and still recovering at the hospital.

The collision was captured on an exterior video surveillance system and is posted on Central Traffic Division's Twitter account, @LAPDCTD24 and lapdonline.org.
