I think the "pro" style badges on the side are the thing that not many do.

This is what LAPD patrols/covers. The rest is by the county sheriff's dept and other cities that have their own pd's.

Ah, yes, Central Bureau of LAPD. I spent a month there in 1992 sleeping on the office floor of then Deputy Chief and later LAPD Chief Bernard Parks. I was one of two liaison officers between Central Bureau LAPD and the Joint Task Force Los Angeles Headquarters - was one of the first from 7th Infantry Division on scene after we were given the mission to quell the riots.

Couple that with the one of the largest markets of sales for a Tacoma in SoCal....

On April 3, 2020, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers from Central Traffic Division responded to a hit and run traffic collision at the intersection of Broadway and 43rd Street in Newton Area. The collision involved a pedestrian who was crossing Broadway in a marked crosswalk at 43rd Street. According to witnesses, the driver of a 2014 to 2020 white Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound on Broadway and failed to stop for a red light when he collided with the pedestrian. The Toyota fled the scene without identifying himself or rendering aid to the severely injured pedestrian. The truck has a cargo roof rack, black rims, and a bed cover.

The pedestrian, described as a 40-year-old male Hispanic, suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries and was taken to local hospital by paramedics from the Los Angeles City Fire Department. He was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit with severe injuries. As of today, the pedestrian is out of ICU and still recovering at the hospital.

The collision was captured on an exterior video surveillance system and is posted on Central Traffic Division's Twitter account, @LAPDCTD24 and lapdonline.org.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Jose De Leon, Central Traffic Division Detectives at (213) 833-3713 or the Central Traffic Division Watch Commander at (213) 486-3713. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (877-527-3247). Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). Tipsters may also contact Crime Stoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone. All text messages should begin with the letters "LAPD." Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.

It's sad when you realize a marathon runner running can make better time than you can via vehicle
