    Hi All!

I'm looking for some help. I want to put a 2" leveling kit on my 2015 Tacoma (Access Cab, Manual Tranny). I am kinda short so I don't want to look like an idiot getting in and out of my truck.

I'm looking for some brands and dimensions for some rims and tires that would go well with a 2" level. With tires I'd like the overall lift to end up being about 4". I'll be off roading so I prefer no low profile tires.

    Thanks!

Welcome Kat! Tons of tires and wheels to chose from. Popular sizes for a 33" tire are 285/75R16 and 255/85R16. How tall are you?

I'd suggest against nerf bars if you plan on off-roading. Those will rob you of a few inches of clearance. At 5'5" I bet you will be able to get into the truck just fine if your legs aren't too short.

I'm 6ft even with a 3in lift and my ass barely cleared the seat to be able to "slide" in.

    I think you'll be fine!

If it means anything, I have a 3" lift with 33's, AND N-Fab steps. I haven't damaged them yet while wheeling.

They mounted perfectly. Only issue I had with N-Fab is I have the stainless version, which they apparently had for sale months before they went into production. So I had to wait an unknown amount of time after already paying for them.

    Hey guys,

I would love to piggy back on this thread. I am new to the forums btw :) I have a 2010 tacoma 4x4 long bed that i bought with a little bigger tires already on it. Right now it has p265/65r17 on it. I am adding a rough country 2in leveling kit today. I would love to get a little bit bigger tire if possible. Does anyone know if I can get a little bigger tire with adding the kit without making the ride a lot rougher? Thanks in advance!

265/70r17 is a popular tire size on here.

And if your buying "Rough" Country spacers, be prepared for a rough ride.

The kit will be the problem re rough riding. Not the tires.

There are many threads on lift options and tire sizes. But one of the critical fitment factors is the wheel used. Many have specs that require some other alteration for the tires not to rub.

Some folks are running 255x80 or 85 on OE wheels with no rubbing. That's a pretty tall tire. Gives more ground clearance, bit more sidewall cushion and fills the wheel wells nicely.

    Wider isn't always better.

Lol fair enough. If you have other recommendations for a 2 inch leveler I am all ears.

    Bilstein 5100s set at 1.75.

As mentioned for the OP, give Marie at Headstrong a call. @HeadStrong Off-Road

So don't using a leveling kit? Does it mess with the ride to much? You also recommend the 265/70r17 with the slight lift? Thanks again for your help!

Anyone else have something to add?

To keep it simple, Lift and Level are pretty much the same thing. If your leveling the front, your techincally lifting just the front.

Front spacers are a cheap way to lift and provide no advantage except for looks.

Bilstein 5100s are relatively cheap. I think you get them for under $200 just for the front. It's an adjustable shocks that let's you move the bottom coil seat. This puts the coil under more compression and raises the front of the truck. It's the most common entry level lift you can do without sticking hockey pucks on top of your coils.

Yea, 265/70r17 is a 31.5 tire. I have a 3in lift and still run those size tires.
