So I got a new job for the summer at a local Boat Yard, and Ill be using my truck so my I am afraid the guys I work with may screw up my bed. My plan is to build a simple wooden flatbed for the summer, and then switch back up next fall.

I know to remove the bed its just the bolts, and rear wiring harness as well as the fuel filler, which is what I am worried about. Anyone know what is required for removal of the bed, concerning the fuel hoses? Eventually I would like to make some side rails for it as well, or maybe something like a " Back Rack" with lights and all. Any help or links is Appreciated!

Heres some pics of her now:

Just throwing this out there because this is what works for me:

I bought a little 4'x8' tractor supply trailer used for $200 to help me haul stuff. Plus I have the bed for extra space when hauling a bunch of stuff. Might be cheaper and easier plus my little trailer has already paid for itself.

When you say "simple wooden flatbed" is all framing and decking of wood or will you have metal framing? Are you soliciting requests for designs or just bed removal?

go with the small trailer idea, or buy that kit, its better, stronger, and ultimately going to be cheaper then anything you could make
