My experience also. High end 1911s get better fit and finish and more humans and care in production. But all 1911s I have fired have had nearly identical accuracy at all tested ranges with equal ammo.

Though I think that is fortunate for me and not an off the shelf norm.

Springfield is excellent. My MilSpec was my first 1911 and the one I love the most. Led me to Professionals, which are the most enjoyable shooting handgun I've ever had. If only they were cheaper.

Colt would be my first choice but I have really taken a liking to a buddy's Ruger SR 1911

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
    So are they Brazilian?
Do they forge 1911 frames and slides for some of SA's offerings?
Sorry if Imbel being Brazilian inflames your lovehole.

Yes some lower end springers are brazilian. They are marked so if they are. The loaded model and up are not. The are supposedly marked on or inside the dust shield. I dont know i have never seen one that was. But havnt ever paid much attention.

To be quite frank, the more you comment the more I have to refrain. So I'll let your cheerful contributions go and let others decide their usefulness.

When it comes down to it, you don't own a Springfield 1911, and I've learned that having a serious conversation with someone about a topic they know little to nothing about first-hand makes for a supreme waste of time. So whatever you have is excellent, amigo. I have no desire to have a verbal tennis match with another person discussing their friends' guns. If you don't like them, you'll never have to buy one.

More cheap Springfield's for me! There's a reason that the top 1911 pistolsmiths refuse to work on and refuse to accept for a custom build certain slide and frame manufacturers. Springfield isn't one of those manufacturers, regardless of your personal feelings. That speaks volumes more and infinitely louder than any non owner's internet opinion.

Really like my Sig Scorpion but if I was buying another one, I would probably go with a Kimber.

^^^^^^That is so bad ass! My buddy was at a gunsmitj shop today having the sight on his Sig XO adjusted and the slide under the rear sight cracked almost in two where the sight tool was clamped. That is jacked up.

To be quite frank, I have shot 1911s longer than you've been on this earth.
Thanks for weighing in on the subject. Whenever I think of handgun experts, Canada always comes to mind.
To be quite frank, the fact that I pointed out that SA imports some of their 1911 forgings does seem to enlighten a few on here...Clearly not you.
You also seem to have a real grasp of how many rounds I've put downrange from said IMBEL(not to be confused with a Brazilian manufacturer;)). You infer that ownership is more important than actual experience at the range or course of fire. Not sure where you get that idea. You also infer that I don't like them. Not sure where you got that idea, either.
So how about you allow me to state what I know from first-hand experience, and I will not point out how you corrected me on Brazilian originated Springers, or how many rounds I've shot thru Brazilian-originated Springers....

None of your wisdom was read since you apparently think I live in Canada. Comprehension is key, which is further reinforcement that this is a waste of time, among other reasons I won't bother pointing out.

What else could CA stand for..

i was under the impression that all springers are forged in brazil.

some(higher end springers) were finished and assembled in the US which will bare the made in genesso IL markings.

    nothing wrong with IMBEL.

never had issues in my milspec minus shooting some very corroded ammo that didnt fire lol.

friend has a GI model that has some issues with hollow points but runs perfect with ball.

then he changed his recoil spring and all was well.
