Hi everyone, having a really hard time picking the color of my new Tacoma so thought I would go ahead and ask on here and do a poll.

Currently my color choices are as follows in no particular order:

    Black
    Silver Sky Metallic
    Quicksand

    What are your thoughts?

I have black, looks great, but is high maintenance. I love the look, but If I were to do it again, I'd go with silver. QS is nice too but it doesn't really fit in with the lush green piedmont of North Carolina lol

IMHO, its really going to have to come down to what you like. I have MGM which I am happy with, I love the Silver, I think on some tacos it looks just killer, some it just looks good. I can say, that me personally though, if I could have found it, QuickSand is my favorite (I like off colors though). My advise, think about the taco's you've seen in those 3 colors, which do you find yourself looking at the longest? I remember using the same approach when deciding if I liked brunettes, blondes or red he.... nvm, you get the idea. :)

Black by far is the best looking on any vehicle (IMO), but it's a nightmare to maintain. If did it all over, I'd probably go with the MGM.

If you are picky about keeping your truck clean and swirl free, black will drive you nuts. If you have the time and detailing is your passion, black can look amazing. I'm really picky. I chose silver.

I might be slightly biased, but I voted SSM.

I've had two black vehicles and swore I'd never buy another after I sold each of them. They look awesome, but are hard to keep clean and the black + Florida sun sucks...

I also loved QS at first, but lately after seeing a bunch of them in person I'm liking it less and less.

This, i've had a black car before, i will never again choose that color, it looks really good when clean but looks dirty 5 minutes after washing it

I always swear I'm never buying a black one again, then I see one in person, and I fold like a cheap suit.

Oh don't worry my impatience was the only thing that kept me from buying a black Tacoma... They told me if I wanted black and the black SR wheels I'd have to wait a month or two, but a dealer an hour away had one in Silver. I thank my impatience every time I walk outside and see my dirty truck looking perfectly clean :D

Too poor to list anything interesting.
    Black.

Because every little scratch, dried water drop, and spec of dust will be seen on it.

But my god does it look amazing the 5 minutes after a wash and wax.

Oh don't even get me started on the water marks. Our water out here is absurdly hard, so even on a freshly cleaned vehicle, water marks can crap out the paint.

Biased - love the silver! Black is great looking on this truck, but have no interest in keeping black look good - live on a dirt rd. I personally do not like the QS and even less so in person, again just my opinion. I realy like the Barcelona red in person, not so much pictures or catalog.

I can see both sides on the QS opinions. It's personally not for me, but I definitely get the appeal of it.

    • Black looks good but is way too hard to keep clean, plus will show swirl marks or any imperfections.
    • QS is growing on me (didn't like it when it 1st came out) but as with some "different" colors could possibly have a small impact on resale value.
    • I vote for Silver Sky Metallic. Easy to keep clean, hides imperfections and Silver is popular by the masses.
But if you want to stand out and are going to keep the truck. Then QS may be for you.

When it comes to less mainstream colors, I always consider if the color will get old and/or dated after a while. Blazing Blue Pearl was gorgeous on the lot, as is Inferno, but I think I'd get tired of it. To each his own I guess.

I used to make fun of two of my relatives who have bought nothing but white vehicles for decades, and said never in a million years. Well, that million years is up, as I ended up choosing Super White.
