    Loose nut behind the wheel.
I think silver is the safest bet if you're keeping your truck more or less stock. The wheels and the grille just blend better. QS looks amazing with blacked-out grille, emblems, plate bumpers, etc. Bone stock it can look a little off imo. I wouldn't do black, just because of the upkeep, although it's a great look if you enjoy keeping it clean and detailed. All depends on your plans.

I had a Silver Rav4 that was exposed to the elements non-stop, rarely in a garage and when I sold it with nearly 200k miles on it the paint still looked incredible and I think I had it detailed 3-4 times and otherwise ran it through auto washes. Sure there were swirls if you got up really close, but from a few feet away after a fresh wash it looked awesome even after 10 years... And that's why I went with a Silver Taco

For me it was between silver and blue. I would find the truck that has the exact options you want, in a color you like. I wanted an SR5 V6/Auto DCSB 4X4 with the tow package. I didn't want any dealer add ons. I found a silver one, but it had ~ $1400 in dealer add-ons (tube steps, floor mats, mud flaps, and paint protection film). I passed. Then I found a blue one with no add-ons. Now it's mine. Since then I have added tube steps, floor mats, and a bed mad for ~ $300.

    Quicksand.

Silver looks nice, but is both common and boring AF.

Black is a terrible color, both in the fact that it doesn't really show off the good lines of this truck, and because it's such a major PITA to keep clean. I had a black car once. Two hours after washing, it looked dirty again. And this was after meticulously washing they drying one panel at a time to avoid water spots. Also, it pretty much scratched just from looking at it wrong. And the swirl marks. Oh god, the swirl marks. Some cars look sharp in black, but IMO it's all in all WAY to much upkeep and so not worth it.

The pro of silver is that it's pretty much the opposite of black in that regard, I haven't washed my silver Volvo in over a year, and from ten feet away it looks clean.

QS just looks damn cool. It's unique, it has both a vaguely military and a retro look to it, and I'm sure it's pretty low maint. as well.

I don't recall. It's something that's been in the back of my mind for about 20 years or so. I don't recall exactly where I first heard it.

Why don't you just search for those three colors and pick whichever overall truck fits your needs/budgets. If you're looking to cross shop dealers and get the best bargain, the more colors that are open to you the better. Getting a really good deal on a Tacoma isn't exactly easy to begin with, and once you start limiting something superficial like colors it gets even harder. Why narrow it down now? I shopped for Super White, Black, MGM, and Silver. Found a stupid crazy deal on the white and pulled the trigger.

My point - if you can't decide between the three, let the price/other features decide for you.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Whatever is sitting on the lot I can haggle over. It was black this time. Red last time. It's been a fun way to buy. Lime green would be SWEET but that won't happen

Silver would be easy to flip later if you don't hang on to your trucks long.

I hang on to my stuff til it's almost worthless.

That's actually good advice. As much as I like QS, this will be my strategy when shopping. The only ABSOLUTELY NOT colors are black and Inferno. Everything else I like.

Silver, but I'm biased. It's a truck and if you use it as one it will get scratched. Silver hides them very well

My absolutely not's where Inferno and BBP. I love the colors and think those trucks actually look really good. I normally keep vehicles for awhile and think those bold colors only look good when its a brand new fresh model... they just dont age well IMO. Kinda like my neighbor's 2005ish school bus yellow Xterra. Kinda cool at the time, now, not so much.

I started with 15+ dealers and just emailed, emailed, emailed. My must haves were DCSB, TRD Sport 4x4, and Premium tech. Ended up having three dealers at the end duking it out and the winning dealer sold me a white DCSB TRD Sport 4x4 with premium tech for several grand less than the next lowest dealer. After we signed an agreement they found out they were a few days too late to modify the truck that was allocated to them and ended up getting JBL and tonneau for essentially free.

I agree with you on the bold colors, for instance I really like the blue, but figured I'd get sick of it eventually. And all those early to mid '00's vehicles in yellow look terrible today. I think the bolder colors look great on Jeep Wranglers, for '17 you can get lime green, purple, or smurf blue, in addition to the regular colors.

And haha, interestingly enough, since last posting I was looking at a dealer's site that I had stopped at last week to check out a QS DCLB OR. It was great, but loaded and a little too much $$ for me. I just saw that they have a DCSB OR in white for 1k less than the other colors of that same truck. It's basic, it's an auto but no tech package or anything else beyond what comes with the TRD OR group, but $33,999 seems like a great price.

Look through the Quicksand thread on this board, it's all the convincing you will need. That's where my vote went.

You can probably do better. I paid 36,125 for my TRD Sport with all those options (4x4, JBL Prem Tech, Factory Tonneau). This was during the last week in November 2016 in Phoenix.

I vote Silver if you are going with a TRD OR. I love the silver with the black fender flares!
