I currently have two Tacos on order, a Limited and a Sport, SSM DCSB 4x4...virtually identical except the Limited's few Limited only bits. Wheels, Homelink, and leather..

Same options on both that I wanted and both within a grand or so cost wise.

Before you ask, I know the fleet manager at one of my close dealerships and he ordered me both..very cool deal..

Wife an I like the Sport look better, but think the ride is a little better in the Limited. Now tire pressures can be way over spec on lot vehicles, so that could be a bit of the issue.. The leather in the Limited not a deal breaker as my friend will put in very nice aftermarket leather, they use KatzKins. Are the seats in the two models the same other than covers?

The Sport is due next Friday and the Limited, mid to end of next month.. I need to decide to take the Sport or not...If I pass, I will need to wait on the Limited.

I notice that Sports are a lot more popular on the forum, yet I doubt cost is the reason as they are very close in cost.

Should I go for the Sport? Or wait for the Limited..

    Thanks all.

I had planned on buying the sport, ended up buying a limited. I was coming out of a 2014 Audi A6, so the limited made the transition easier. I have no plans on using mine for off roading, bought it for beach driving, so I feel it suits me better. Hard tonneau cover and full BedRug turned my truck into a 4 door 4 wheel drive go most anywhere vehicle with a huge carpeted trunk. Perfect!

Ok, But why the Limited..? You can option the Sport virtually identical to the Limited sans the leather and homelink..

I had the same decision and went with the sport. I liked the looks a bit better at the dealer. In hindsight I think the limited might have been a bit better. The seats in the sport are not that comfy, I think the leather might be a bit better. Also the sun reflects off the creases or steps on the hood and becomes anoying when your driving east in the am and west in the afternoon. Not big problems but annoyances. I think the hood without the hood scoop would be much nicer. Also I think the JBL sound in the limited is a bit nicer.
I'm sure whichever you pick will be nice. These are just a couple things I've noticed.

I would go sport. Money saved I would add on an aftermarket suspension (OME are popular for ride quality) and then add the Katz leather

I added a home link for $200 from eBay that was plug and play.

I like the sport look better. The interior color of the LtD... :puke:

well i drove both in quicksand, limited and sport, both DCSB 4x4.

The limited of course was loaded, the sport had everything the limited did, except JBL (did have tech though), and leather seats.

I came home with the sport, why? well whoever spec'd the limited out ordering it got some exhaust on it and it wasn't as quiet as the sport, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay for a trd exhaust that still has to be cut and rerouted anyways. lol

Plus you can get better material seats put in the tacoma for like $900 around here and in any color.

Only thing I wish I had though for sure is JBL, not that I think the radio is bad in the truck I got it's just that i know it could be better, that being said I'll never upgrade the door speakers unless something happens to a speaker.

The limited is more luxurious, which appealed to me, and it was equipped very similar to my Audi. I also like the brown seats/black interior, very European (was surprised to see this at Toyota). My previous cars were the 2014 Audi A6, an 2010 Volvo C30, a 2012 Volvo S60, a 2011 BMW X5, and a 2004 Volvo S60. The limited fits my taste more than the sport. All a matter of personal choice.

The Limited comes with the same suspension as the base and SR5 trucks, the Sport has a firmer, better handling suspension. Do you want a well damped ride that is fun in the Twisties (Sport) or do you want a softer ride in a straight line (Limited)?
