Help me confirm my setup

Finally going through with a lift and wheel/tire upgrade, here's what I've come up with:

2009 V6 AC SR5 4x4 - bone stock
Head strong Bilstein 5100 Kit - 2885 coils, LR UCAs, Deaver single AAL.
Toyo Open Country R/T 285/70R17

$185+ American Racing AR172 Baja Black Painted Wheels

The wheel is the part I'm stuck on. I have two choices, 17/8 w/0 offset or 17/9 w/-12mm offset. Both have just about 4.5" backspacing. Both are just about the same price, is there an advantage to going one width over the other? Will the 9" rub the UCA?

Ended up going with 265/75R16 Tires and 16x8 Wheels. Also didn't get the UCAs, will see how the alignment goes today before I decide.

 

I have similar truck/factory set up. Looking to do something similar to your original idea on wheel/tire set-up. Can I ask why you opted to not go with the 285/70R17?

 

To be honest I looked through every page of the "Lifted on 265s" thread and those trucks had the look I was going for. I also wanted to preserve some gas mileage, lol. I assumed if the 265s were too dinky then I could swap them at my next tire change. However, I'm 1000% happy with my decision, it looks perfect IMO and I don't have any desire to go bigger. These Toyos are almost 32" so they are only 1" smaller in diameter than the 285s.

 

Hey thanks for your reply. You're right it does look great. Did you see anyone out there even put 285/70R17 or any combo just under 33"?
