    Hey Folks,

I've had my 2013 TRD Sport PreRunner DCSB for about a week now. Plan on keeping this for several years, so I want to slowly but surely turn into a darling pavement princess. I'm not going for any crazy looks! Just want some of the ideal exterior and interior mods for this to ride smoothly. I've already ordered the 3D print cupholders from a guy on Tacomaworld, so that should increase the horsepower by about 50.

Not looking to lift any higher than 4 inches! Considering multiple avenues: coilovers in front with AAL in rear, spindles with leaf pack in rear, etc. I bought the truck with a leveling kit (front spacer, rear block) so I want that off ASAP. Any recommended LED fog and head/tail lights? What about other interior mods? Thanks folks!

Start here before you change to LED fog and headlights:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-not-led-or-hid.398066/page-215#post-26981833

Coilovers up front seem to be the most popular opinion here. For the rear, there are several different options for leaf spring packs that are popular.

For interior mods, my favorite has been changing to LED dome and MAP lights as well as doing the dome/MAP light on at the same time mod. You still retain individual MAP function, but the MAP lights come on with the dome light turned on (via switch, open doors, etc.). Also, floor mats are a must. Weathertech and HuskyLiner are the two most popular. I went with HuskyLiner weatherbeaters and love them.

If you want a smooth ride just rebuild the stock suspension, everything else mentioned here will do the opposite.

    Michelin Defender tires.
Restore/replace stock head and tail lights.
    Cerakote all the plastic trim.
    Polish and wax the paintwork.

NOTHING looks better than a stock Tacoma!

Or ya know, do whatever the f*ck you want what do we care? hahaha

OME 885/5100s. Dakar leaf pack. 255/80/17 tires. I installed SPC LR upper control arms to get the alignment right. Haven't needed a cmc and no rubbing. I chose Toyo Open Country AT3 they look great and are "only" 50lbs. Recently regeared and installed a Detroit Truetrac to be more capable off-road. No heavy steel anywhere. I can get almost 16mpg if I drive easy.

    4.33? 4.10?

We have the same tires, but I have a little more weight with my cap I think

Went with 4.10. Didn't want to be revving high on the freeway. 4.30 would be my second choice. Gears made a huge difference. Feels more powerful than stock. Not too high on the freeway.

I've got a brand new set of 2016 TRD Pros coilovers front and rear I'm about to post on the FS section.

Location FYI those shocks didn’t start coming on pros till I think the 2018 model year. Also in 2020 they were revalved by Fox.

Fat fingered. Yes. Revalved, different piston & bleeds along with the anodizing change and the pigtail on the spring for ease of mfg at the plant.

Coilovers out of my price range but good luck with the sale @DIRT_MERCHANT

Need to replace the drive belt components (pulley, tensioner, belt) with the engine bay giving me the jet engine whine, so money will go towards that first.

For street use skip the lift for god's sake. Lifted pickup trucks that aren't hard core off roaders are the new aluminum louvers. Just a silly style thing. Get new stock Bilsteins if yours are really worn out. Mine are fine at 124,000 miles. Then get a Hellwig roll bar for the rear to tighten up the road handling.

Sorry, nothing personal. I see it all the time and have to laugh. You hear them on the highway with the AT tires generating heat and loooowww mpg as they pass you at 80 mph. LOL. Some AH here in my hood has a Ford F150 with like a ridiculous 8" lift and monster AT tires pushed way out. It's his daily driver to get to an office job. Never a speck of dust on it. I guess he needs that to get through the parking lot at the grocery store. LOL. To each his own, I guess, but I still think it is ridiculous. It makes statement, alright. But probably not the one he hoped.

Really I am just looking for something modest. No front pucks. No 20 inch tires. On my '05 Access Cab I had the Rough Country 3" Coilover setup with SPC upper control arms and it didn't make it stand out in any ridiculous way. Just some extra clearance. I've thought about their 3.5" Kit with front coilovers, control arms, leaf pack.

OK, I am gonna keep playing devil's advocate here. You said "pavement princess" so to you point below I ask: for what? This will always compromise on road handling and MPG. I know that these lifts are a thing these days, but remember you are going to be paying $5.00/gallon of gas and is it really worth a lift that is really only some sort of style statement? OK, I am out of this thread. Good luck.

And for my dry, short follow-up: I didn't buy a truck for the gas mileage haha.
