    Hey guys,

    I pretty much have 2 options I'm thinking about going with, and your opinions are much appreciated.

    Option 1:

    Camburg Spindles
    OME Dakar's
    315/70/17 Dynapro ATM's
    XD Addicts
    Ext. brake lines
    Bilstein 5125's (rear)
    Bilstein 5100's (front)
    Total cost: $2950 not including shipping for lift (tires are shipped)

    Option 2:

    OME Complete kit
    Light Racing UCA's
    33" BFG AT's (or Duratracs)
    XD Addicts

    Total cost: $2538 not including shipping (tires are shipped)

    Sway me one way or the other.

    Spindles love them...option 1 will be bigger and look so much better IMO. And being $400 more in the big picture is nothing.

    Everything was about 3.5k the install was $400 i believe. I got my lift installed at a local offroad place (B & R offroad). I have compared and the spindle lift was much cheaper to install for shops than option 2 with the UCA's. No negative things about the spindles I love it!

    Nice, thanks for the info. I emailed a couple shops up this way about getting some quotes.

    I would but I'm hesitant to mess with bleeding the brakes and all that shit. I'd be installing the rear leaf pack and the front Bilsteins though.

    Bleeding the brakes is a piece of cake! By far the easiest part of the process. If that's all that's stopping you, I'd say do the install yourself.

    I voted OME. Spindles may look better but the ride will be better by completely replacing the entire suspension rather than using stock coils. I like the stiffer coils, I think they make the truck ride and handle much better.

    I gotta ask, for my own education, why is everyone recommending spindles vs. upgrading the coil/struts? My method of thinking is, I'd rather have a heavier coil so the truck doesn't roll as much in corners or dive as much under heavy braking vs just having additional height on stock suspension. I don't have a prerunner and probably never will (need 4x4 for snow) and not trying to start a crapstorm, I'm only asking for my own knowledge.

    Also not trying to threadjack but I think the responses would be relevant to your original question.

    Personal recommendation: I've never been a fan of spindles on stock suspensions, I'd much rather upgrade to full coilovers first.
    There are plenty of good CO's at the $1000 range to choose from and will give you 3" compare to the 4" spindles.

    Also on the LR UCA: For the money spent, why are you going back to ball joint instead of to uniball.
    If you're already forking out $450 or so, what's another $150? LOL

    Function over form, but hey its your truck and your money. :thumbsup:

    Mild/moderate trails, hunting trails, hauling firewood, etc. nothing serious, and for looks also. (I am a Prerunner, mind you :anonymous: )
    I mainly researched spindles because of the height aspect. I love the look of 4-5" of lift on the DCLB. Not too far down the road I would go with Eibach coils on the 5100's up front, and those would stiffen up the front. I'm not sure I could benefit from a high-dollar coilover based on what I'd be using my truck for, EVEN though I'd be getting spindles. IMO, Eibachs would work out great with the 5100's set at 0, and that would make the front stiffer but gain the amount of lift I'd like.

    I might be looking at the Maxtrac spindles which would run $450, but still need to get some more info on them.
    35's would be nice... :D

    I got a quote from a shop today for $400 for everything installed with an alignment included.
    I don't think I'd get the use out of $1000 coilovers based on what I use my truck for though. The OME kit would fit my needs perfectly should I go with a 3" kit. I just wouldn't get my money out of a high end suspension up front.

    As for the UCA's, hearing good things about them with alignments plus being cost effective for my application just made them a good choice IMO. I'm definitely open to other suggestions though.
