I would consider the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I had them on my last truck (6.7L F350) and they did great everywhere besides the snow.

Discount Tire just bought back a set of Cooper ST Maxx’s that I had on my Tacoma. I was not happy with the tires at all and would not recommend them.

I ended up going with BFG K02’s (C load range) for my Tacoma and I’m a lot happier now. Only time will tell if I go back to the Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

What didn’t you like about them? Can’t say I’ve had an issues myself. I’d buy them again.

They rode pretty rough because they were load range E tires, did not perform well in the rain, were annoyingly loud and 2 of the 4 tires started to vibrate really bad at highway speeds and couldn’t be balanced.

I had them on for about 10K miles before they started giving me problems. My truck also started to pull to the right really bad. I thought it was the alignment at first, so I took my truck to three different alignment shops and I was still having issues.

I did some searching on the forums here and found that these issues are pretty common with the ST Maxx’s, and the guys I spoke with at Discount Tire basically had the same feedback.

The issue I had with my truck pulling to the right was eliminated since putting on the K02’s. They are also noticeably quieter and softer riding. That being said, the Cooper’s did very well in the mud, sand and on the trails.

What size were you running? Same size for the KO2s?

I just made the switch from KO2's (which I liked) to the Toyo AT3's. So far I love them!

Just got mine put on today. $530 after rebate is hard to beat for a well reviewed tire. Had other generals in the past and they were great. Guy at the shop has them and said I will love them. He said they are awesome in the snow.
