I'm with you 100% just pointing out that 33k is not what the truck would cost USD.

I got a 2015 double cad SR5 V6 Prerunner with 21k Miles for $27k. Those prices you quoted are a bit much!

It seems that I agree with the general consensus that for those prices, used is too much.

Now I'm thinking new. I checked with four dealers in the Vancouver area. Three told me flat out that they won't negotiate the price. One is offering $1200 off the internet price.

Now I have to decide if I should go for the 2017 now, or wait for the 2018's to come in. I have found a dozen or so 2017 OR DCSB available in the area; I'm thinking of gambling that they will go down in price once the 2018's hit the show room.

If not, then it is a 2018 for me.

Check the Carfax, that bumper looks fishy. Could have been in an accident.

thought Id throw in a hello and a comment. I purchased my 14 about 2 months ago from Jim Pattison Toyota Victoria about a month ago. TRD Sport version with 46000km. Paid exactly what you quoted above out the door. Honestly I searched here on the island and on the mainland for about 2 years before giving up on getting a better deal. These damn trucks are just too popular around here and the dealers know it. I went in hard bargain every time and within days of walking out the door they sold within the week anyway. They know it, they know the next guy will come in and pay what they want in the end, or they'll keep it on the lot another week. the only one I've seen stick around is at Vic Mitsubishi, a 15 with leather asking 39k. Other than the odd front bumper seems pretty standard pricing for BC. I was even willing to shop as far as Chilliwak, but why bother for essentially the same prices as here, Nanimo, Duncan, and all of the mainland. Good luck to ya though! I'm happy I finally got my dream truck in the end!

I tried out two more today.

    http://www.jptoyota-northshore.com/...a-Tacoma-c3c5e1590a0e0a171920299196532abe.htm

It was beat up a bit, but not bad. Their low pressure sales was a bit high pressured. I don't think I want something with more than about 50,000 km.

Having said that, I also tried a 2015 TRD Sport MT. http://openroadtoyotaportmoody.com/used-toyota-cars/31788/2015-Toyota-Tacoma. This one looks clean. It started life in Saskatoon and spent one year on the prairy, was in one accident the owner paid for and one glass replacement. We went on Canadian Black Book and the range was $29,600 to $31,000 or so, so I said $30,000, $34k out the door. After some conversation I said, "You have my contact information, give me a call if you want to go ahead". We shall see.

I prefer the 2017 TRD OR but I can't justify the additional $13k.

I'm starting to try to justify the extra $13k. I offered $30k on the Sport MT and they countered much higher. The end price would have been $37k, only $10k off new.

    The search continues....

Test drove the black SR5. Steering wheel was off, low tire pressure warning light was on, no heated seats, no trailer hitch. Pass.
