I have the 285 70 R17 St Maxx and love them they have been great in all conditions. I have been thinking about getting the 255 80 R17 st maxx. From your pictures they look close to the same height can you confirm this. I have been staying away because I heard they are short compaired to other brands. Thank you

They’re nearly identical in height. Your tire width is what will be different.

Thanks for the help I will be getting the maxx again love the tire works great in all conditions here in Colorado. I have been wanting to try pizza cutters for years.

Check the tire index in the second post in my build thread. I need to add more tires, but I’m fairly certain I have 255/80 and 285/70 in R17 for S/T Maxx there.

Hanook makes a decent tire. Discount Tire will price match Walmart. You can do 35s for a good price. Word to the wise, get the certificates. @RobP62 will agree

St Maxx because the work great in everything even snow. I have heard complaints about the nitro in the snow here in Colorado.

I've been running ST Maxx in 275/70/17 for about a year now and they are great. Not the quietest ride at highway speeds but that's expected with an aggressive tire. Does great off road. I run them at about 32 PSI, I find anything above 35 to be too uncomfortable. You start to feel every imperfection in the road.

20190905_185837.jpg20190810_161917_HDR.jpg I have the ridge grapplers in 285/70/17 and they are a fantastic tire. Had ko's on my last truck and I think the RGs are a clear step up on road and in the limited off roading I've gotten to do. So smooth and quiet even at highway speeds. Strongly recommend.

If i were rock and gravel wheeling i would get load range E I love the way the Nitto ridge grapplers handle on the road. Also like the sidewall. C5EF9A3C-20FC-4009-9167-A73247B78F5E.jpg
