Hey guys, I'm new to the site, and should be introducing myself on the "new member" discussion pages, but decided to keep it short and simple.

I'm a new Tacoma entrepreneur, and I have been looking for 05+ Tacomas. The main purpose of the Tacoma will be to tow my trailer, here and there, not everywhere, and not on a daily basis, as well as helping hauling stuff to and from the house. Also, I would like to take the bad boy offroading with my friends and their 5.7 Tundras and Tacomas, every month or few months.

I just wanted to know what are some of the main differences, if any, between the 05, 06, and 07 Tacomas.

Also, could you guys give me input on these two Tacomas. I'm really interested in the long bed for storage and bed use:

    or

    Please help guys!!

For 2006, a tire-pressure monitor is now standard on all Tacomas. Revised SAE testing procedures have dropped horsepower and torque ratings.

The 2007 Toyota Tacoma gets only minor changes. Its front seats have been upgraded, and the dash and audio head units have been revised.

The Toyota Tacoma enters 2008 with no changes.

For 2009, all Toyota Tacoma pickups get standard stability and traction control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags, active front head restraints and a limited-slip differential. The standard audio system has also been upgraded, while Access Cab models get a new rear-seat design and standard power windows and door locks.

Pulled it right off edmunds.com (just change the date in the URL)

I like them both, like the long bed better though and I'm not even a long bed fan

FYI the short bed is NOT a Sport like they say it is. It's a SR5 with a sport hood. No locker, maybe LSD. No bed outlet.

    Go for the long bed.

Thanks for all of the information guys, I appreciate it.

I agree the long bed looks way better, but the rims have to go imo. So the 06 long bed has LSD on it, as well as the bed outlets?
