    So my 4 options are

    Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS
    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130X5500BH/Pioneer-AVH-X5500BHS.html
    Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS
    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130X850BHS/Pioneer-AVH-X8500BHS.html
    Kenwood DDX470
    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DDX470/Kenwood-DDX470.html
    Kenwood DDX770
    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DDX770/Kenwood-DDX770.html

I have done some research but to me there aren't many differences between the 2 Pioneers and the 2 Kenwoods. I'm not a big audio person so I can't really tell the differences. I'm getting them tomorrow so some info would be much appreciated.

Haha I figured this would be an answer. I've had both and I liked Pioneer just trying to figure out which one since it's about a $125 difference.

Just wondering.... why the Pioneer over Kenwood? Ive been looking and I have narrowed my search down to the DNN990 Kenwood DVD/NAV unit with the 7 inch touch screen and wifi....(not real crazy about the wifi option, I just read that this model does "speech to text" and I could PROBABLY use the PTT button on my steering wheel). On appearance I like the Kenwood better too....

Just picking some brains here and getting more knowledge before I drop almost 2K just to get some in dash NAV wich is my main goal here.

Doesn't seem to much of a difference.

Why do you say that? I was actually looking at a Kenwood deck to buy next time I got paid.

I'm considering the ddx470, but the only thing that sets it apart for me is the volume knob. I just like it better than pushing up/down

I bought the pioneer appradio3 sph-da210 it's pretty awesome uses the a couple apps off my phone through the radio. I like pioneer. Alpine would have probably been a second choice.

You can get a better deal through somewhere other than crutchfield. I bought mine off Amazon and saved maybe 60-80

Yeah I usually agree with this too, but CF had the same price as a quick Amazon search yielded, plus the dash and wiring kits made CF better just this once. But obviously looking around you can almost always beat CF

Speaking of which, OP, where did you buy yours? new or used, refurb?

This might be the one time that I'll rant FOR a store buy instead of online. I happen to have grown up in cville where CF is actually located and have NEVER had a bad experience with them. If you can buy outlet from them then I've never seen a better deal. If you're tryin to buy new (which I get and usually do) they still are hard to beet when you consider they include all the wiring and mounting hardware as well as the awesome warranties you get. The first amp I bought blew up in only a few months (didn't know what I was doin at the time and went cheap instead of getting quality), they replaced it for a comfortable model that worked for years for me no questions asked. Also had a problem with a home stereo (bad ground in a dorm blew it up), they fixed that also no questions asked. I've dealt with them on multiple occasions and have to say that I'll probably never go anywhere else when it comes to stereo stuff...

    There... Rant done

I've ran pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, Alpine, all top end models.

Pioneer sounds second best and has the best interface.

Alpine has great sound but the interface is HORRIBLE.

Kenwoods are a good bang for the buck, but the quality from them do not seem to be as good as Pioneer or Alpine.

    JVC- Crap.

^You are going to buy a big-screen head unit without navigation?

All I have to do is buy a chord and my phones navigation will show up on my head unit. I think that's cheaper than a 2K one

In my opinion, the Kenwood has a better GPS interface, but Pioneer will likely stand behind the software/firmware updates far longer than Kenwood!
