Hey y’all! Figured I’d see if y’all could help me diagnose a problem I’m having on my 2006 Tacoma.

the air (regardless of its heat or AC) will cut out for a few seconds and then turn back on.

is this a blower motor problem? Or what could it be?

    Thanks for the help!

Do a search on blower motor resistor

I replaced the resistor about a year ago and the air cuts out at all flow speeds so I don’t think it’s the resistor again. Could it be the blower motor itself?

Put a voltmeter across the blower connector and see if the power is still present when the blower stops spinning

Check the plug at the motor.

The plug having a meltdown is relatively common, I replaced my plug (semi opaque white) with one from a junkyard Accord same plug different (higher temp black) plastic with thicker conductors and larger spades.

I also packed it full of dielectric grease.

    Haven't had a problem since.

It's also not a bad idea to get a new blower motor as resistance goes up with age and even from the dealer they're not too expensive.

Another vote for checking the two wire connection on the blower motor itself. It may be burned and loose.

Not sold as a kit, sold as each. So you will need one of the plugs and two of the terminal and wires.

I've got a similar problem, 08 Tacoma blower runs high speed only, any selector switch setting still runs at high speed. Ideas?

Same as above. Resistor and harness.

    Oh look, another mod....

I always hate it when they stop blowing after a few seconds. Oh, wait...you're talking about something else. Carry on.

I had the same issue. you definitely need to replace the resistor and the harness. just replacing the resistor will only fix the problem for a little while.
