Last Friday I got my truck back from its Frame replacement for the recall. Saturday I put my new lift on. The truck seemed fine when I got it back. All in all I did OME 887 coils, JBA upper control arms, .25" spacer on drivers side, ditched the sway bar, and progressive 1.5" aal in the rear. The truck has 5100s all the way around. I also did front pads and rotors during the install.

About a day after I put the truck back together I noticed a metallic clicking sound. I notice it at low speeds under 20-25mph, it happens when I hit pot holes or bumps, and also when I hit the brakes, but not every time I hit the brakes. The sound is present in both 2 and 4 wheel drive no diffrence

    Things I've checked:
    -hubcaps and lugnuts
    -front bumper crash bar bolts
    -front skidplate
-didn't seem to be any wiggle in the pads
-no play when I Jack the truck up and shake the wheel
    -lca bolts
    -3 coilover top nuts
    -caliper bolts
-grabbed and shook damn near everything I can get my hands on.
    -exhaust hangers
-if I drag the brakes when I drive it makes no diffrence, still get the sound when I hit bumps.

I've laid under my truck and looked at everything for a total of about 2 hours. I'm stumped. Truck drives fine, I do still need to get an alignment however.

One thing I noticed is some play where the cv axle goes into the differential. I can wiggle it up and down and it has some play in and out of the diff. It is not a lot of play at all, and I've heard some is normal.

    Plz help

Also dragging the brakes makes not diffrence. I think that rules out the pad wiggling theory

That video sounds like the noise my exhaust made everytime I hit a pot hole after I replaced it with the TuRD catback.

If it is that you can replicate it by trying to wiggle/rocking the exhaust by pushing on the exhaust tip with your feet.

    No problem,

I saw the video again, it sounded exaclty like that.

In the 2nd video the noise you are reffering to is at 19-20s of the video?

If so, again exaclty as mine did.

Noise was produced from the flange, between the cats and muffler.

I don't know your exhaust setup, but any chance it could be the muffler heat shield ? I had a buzzing kinda noise on a Ford Truck I owned years ago, and that's what it was .... I had it tack welded back on and problem solved ....

    just a thought

Yea that's the sound I was talking about. You can really hear it in the first video. I'll give the exhaust a thorough check

Where the flange is, check the bolts, not sure how to explain it but I'll give it a try; in the flange from the muffler side, the screws should be centered inside the screw hole, if the exhaust is not perfectly aligned, then screw is not centered in the hole and when the exhaust moves the screws make contact with the flange causing noise. A picture would help but I'm not able to take one right now.

In my case I ended up replacinrg the flange bolts and screws, gasket and using a shorter hanger ( last one closer
to the exhaust tip) to rotate the exhaust counter clock wise slightly if looking at the truck from the back.

I just gave it a quick shake and it seemed solid. It appears the dealer put new bolts Inot when they did the frame swap. I'll have to give it a better look though

So I think I may have found the source. When I installed my jba UCA's I left out the metallic spacer they come with. For some reason I thought you only needed that if you got new spindles and it was supposed to press in the spindle. Well I was wrong. The spacer is supposed to sit on top of the spindle underneath the ball joint. My theory is that beacuse this spacer is not there the ball joint is able to move up and down and smack into the spindle and produce the sound.

I really hope this is it cause if it's not and I can't find this noise I'm gonna want to set the damn thing on fire.

Well the spacer did not fix the noise. May have made it a bit quiter or I'm just imagining things.

Gonna get a go pro mounted underneath tommorow

The noise is coming from the front bumper crash bar. I removed it and wellah no noise. Luckily I have a spare crash bar. Gonna put that on and hopefully it will make a diffrence.

Replaced the crash bar, no more noise.
