So I backed up into a bin with my tailgate down. Hit the driver side, put a small bend in it.

It looks like I pushed the hinge that bolts to the truck bed towards the cab, so the tailgate won't close on the driver's side now. I can pull on the tailgate and the hinge seems to slide a bit.

My questions are: how much will a new tailgate run me, and am I going to be screwed due to this hinge issue?

It doesn't look too bad. I'm sure everything can be replaced fairly easily. Just look online for some hinges and a tailgate. Good luck. Hope they don't cost too much.
