This thread sure is helpful for someone that wants a 2” lift but doesn’t have time to sift through hundreds of pages. Props to the OP for asking the question, then keeps on asking the questions.

You also said some people needed the spacer if staying with stock 6112 springs. So I’m trying to decide if I do the 5/6th thing, 5/5th and spacer... or 6/6th with spacer. Not finding much posted on those details.

Look at post 69 in this thread. That chart is directions from Bilstein where you set the clip. You cant do 6/6 or 5/5. It’s at different settings to help offset the lean on the driver side. 6 clips on the driver and 5 on the passenger of the 6112s.

Oh ok so Bilstein themselves suggest the 5/6 setting? If so I’m good with that

Absolutely true, this thread has been awesome since I’m trying to decide these things myself. This guy is asking the right questions, almost a trolling level of questions, hope he keeps digging and gets more solid answers.

You're not going to feel any difference in ride or performance no matter which way you decide to compensate for lean. Just pick one and be happy with your choice.

Most offfset the clips so they don't need to buy and install the additional spacer.

Like I said before if going AAL I recommend the 3 leaf Progressive over the single leaf as they ride better with an empty bed and leaving the O/L in will give you close to 2 inches of lift from stock.

    Thanks, Jay.

Thanks everyone for the help. Decision made:

    6112/5160 - 5/6th notch
JBA UCAs - because it seems if I don't want alignment headaches this is the way to go
3 Leaf AAL (Wheeler or HS)
ECGS Bushing (Do I NEED to buy tools or anything else for this, or can most places just do the install with just me supplying the bushing?)

Thinks thats all I need for a 2" lift all around and performance suspension upgrade. Will need to order everything separately and probably won't get to the install for a month or 2.

Get the bushing and the seals to provide the shop, start asking around for the extraction tool in your area, @Marcoc may have one to loan since he's in CT and has done the bushing.

Thanks. I just messaged him. Damn, on the ECGS website the seal is 20, the removal tool is 45 and the extraction tool is another 45! All this stuff is necessary? Most shops don't have these items? Hopefully Marsoc can get back to me.

    A few minor things...
The tool is great to have if you don't have INSIDE bearing pullers available to you. The install tool is a generic seal press you can get at any auto parts store, Amazon, or ebay. The bushing is the special part of the 3.

If you can borrow a tool for a case of beer that'll save you, and if you have a socket slightly smaller OD than the bushing you can just tap it in with mallet (not a hammer...). Just don't push it in too far.

Thanks. Unfortunately I won't be doing the work, so I'm assuming I at least need to buy the seal and the removal tool since a shop wouldn't have it?

Shops should have a reversible bearing puller. They're not a super specialty tool. I would figure out what shop you're going to take your truck to and ask if they have the capability of pulling a needle bearing from a differential. If they say yes, no problem then you're golden. Buy the seal and bushing and have them swap it out.

I run a maintenance department at a manufacturing company so I have a full lineup of pullers, pushers, spreaders etc. You can get a sick small puller for around $100. Cheap ones run about $30-$40. Any garage should have them.
