I wish they would correct the mistakes though (TRAC default versus Auto LSD in 4Hi / 4Lo). But, it is the best one to get the points across.

Honestly, all Tacos and OG Pickups look pretty damn good. Toyota has that down solid.

Sounds like it would be... manual isn't an absolute for me even tho I do DD my manual GTI.

My wife doesn't drive manual so the AT would probably be the best choice if she gets around to driving it.

Shit, you could put three 25# dogs in an access cab. I have a 90# dog and will have no concerns once I build a simple platform for the back.

On performance cars I only drive manual, but on a truck, I prefer the auto.

according to this, not one single buyer did an effective test drive from 2016 to 2019, are all idiots & suckers, and are all making up the same stories. thousands of them without a doubt. man, you really give every Tacoma buyer an example of how to be.

On the contrary, many buyers from 16-19 did effective test drives and are not “idiots/suckers”. They are perfectly content and happy with their truck and have no complaints or regrets (just like myself).

cool. that's great. your experience does not represent everyone's reality, and you looking back from your experience does not describe theirs. I'm saying this because you made a blanket statement about the AT history in the 3g's that is not accurate. let's try to steer people towards consideration rather than just looking past other's difficulties with the truck. the test drive thing sounds simple. and that's because it was for you.

The dealer gave me an Automatic for a 3 day extended test drive a couple years ago, going up a fairly long hill was absolutely exhausting as it endlessly shifted between 4-5-6, I drive right up that same hill everyday in 6th in my truck.

lol This is some smartass bro shit!! I researched a shit ton, took test drives, knew about the shifting and STILL bought my truck. If I'm being all honest though...I don't know how anyone that has ever driven multiple cars/trucks in their life can drive an automatic Taco on the highway and think the shifting is proper?!?! The Techs at the dealer will tell you straight out Toyota makes it OFF on purpose to maximize Fuel MPG. I love my Taco more than any car truck I have owned, the ECT mode fixes all my issues and I will eventually do an OVTune. This idea that EVERYTHING has to be perfect and top notch is just silly. It can still be a GREAT truck with a couple quirks.

again. This is not just “my” experience, but hundreds of thousands of people that have no issues with their truck.

there is no issue with the automatic transmission in the truck. The “problem” is the characteristics of the motor, transmission and tuning combined with an UNINFORMED / UNDER-RESEARCHED CONSUMER.

I don’t tell you what and how to post, I’d appreciate the same kindness in return.

i test drove 2 and they shifted what seemed like normal. i didn't tow or haul, being a test drive, and i only did it to test fit since i was getting the MT. in both those test drives there was no way to assess the trans effectively. those were probably up near 5-6 dozen test drives I've done over many years. nobody knows how to look for problems that don't obviously show, and I've never had to dig & dig for faults on a test drive.

On long road trips you will be very happy if you can switch drivers. I have a manual and while I don't mind driving there were a couple times it would have been really helpful if she could have drove. If you're going to spend significant time doing so definitely go auto or teach her stick.

I was never even remotely considering the auto, the Dealer just wanted me to feel the truck before ordering the MT. Having that truck for 3 days was not a very fun experience with it being so shift happy.

you sound pretty aggressive there. So you “knew” about the “shifting issues” and still bought the truck, eh? Lol... sounds legit!

Then you admit that Toyota does this to try and maximize MGPs? Ha! Who knew???

You then further state that “ECT mode fixes all MY issues”. Fantastic. You called it, “your issues”.

Your issues along with a handful of others is that YOU don’t appreciate the characteristics of the truck. But instead of admitting that, you blame Toyota and the truck for a “faulty” transmission. LoL.

Silly times we live in, I tell ya!
