Your post is unclear to me. You say:
    • My key fob is ridiculously short. Like 10 feet max, I'm using a startx remote start.
    • I may have to get an aftermarket remote start
Are you talking about using the key fob to lock/unlock doors or are you talking about remote starting?
Maybe the "startx remote start" is the problem.
You have a stock remote start and an aftermarket "startx" and now you want another?
Like toycoma2021 said clean your battery terminal and connections and you may also need a new engine battery. Have you checked it?

I bought the truck 3 months ago. Key fob range has been very short since day 1. It has the H key, with no factory remote start. I bought the startx add on remote start. It's useless because it uses the stock key fob, and the range is too short. I've looked around under the dash and the engine bay and I don't see any signs of any aftermarket add ons. Tail lights and headlights are stock, non led.

I plan to clean up the battery terminals this weekend now that we're finally out of this cold snap. The battery has been working fine at -40f lately though, but I'll try anything lol.
