Has anyone do anything to prevent rust from undercar? I plan to keep my Tacoma for a long time and rust seem to be an issue especially here in the eastcoast that deal with road salt in the winter. Any advice will greatly appreciate.

Wack tonnes of oil underneath the truck and anywhere metal will be exposed to salt.

It all comes down to one thing. Do not allow the environment to come into contact with metal. There are many ways to do this. As mentioned above, oil is a shield, albeit a temporary and messy one. Coatings such as Rust Bullet, Zeibart, et al are another way. I tend to prefer the coatings. If they are strong to prevent chippng and thick enough to ensure a proper shield from oxygen and moisture, they will 100% prevent rust.

I used a wire brush and then washed it then used this rustoliem product that bonds to the rust dry's it out and kills the rust turning it to a paintable surface then the next day hit it up with a rustoleum clear coat and let it dry and done!!

If spray with clear coat, how often do you have to respray it. Is there any part if the undercar that should not be spray.

Seem like a messy job, plus I don't like dirt or debri stick on the oil.
