Currently no 'Nest, but if I can get stuff done it will be mounted eventually. Just need to clean out garage space to work on the mounting plate/adapter/frame/whateveryouwantotcallit. The ones that fit older trucks don't fit clean enough to me to feel secure. Personally, IH8JerryCans, so my long term solution is a second tank in the spare location. But that requires a swing out... Cans on the roof or bumper scream "Steal My Gas!" and I always worry about making deceleration propelled fireballs in a wreck.

I like that idea much better. I almost got one over a decade ago for a 3rd Gen 4Runner. I believe people were retrofitting Ford gas tanks in there. Truth be told, I hate swing out bumpers as well, but extended range would trump the inconvenience.

    I have the filld app.
I haven't stopped for gas a little over a year.
The extra $3 bucks for each fill is nothing compared to the time saved... my life is insanely busy as it is already.
They come and fill it up and go. I get an alert on my phone.

Not a viable daily solution. The nozzle needs to be “pumped” to get flow started and IF the tank is high enough you MAY get gravity feed through the 1/2” hose which takes forever. I have one for my lawnmower / yard fueling and mounted a strap style boat trailer winch to the ceiling of my shed to hoist it for gravity feeding. Mounted higher than my lawn tractor it works fine but if I am counting the time when filling a lawn tractors 1.5 gallon tank it is not feasible for emptying the whole thing mid week. I would rather drive to a station and use their pump. I could do the whole tank from fumes faster than emptying this one into your tank.

Tape an egg to your foot. It's pretty surprising what aggressive starts and acceleration cost in fuel. Keep excess crap in the garage, dead weight is dead weight. Drive with the windows up. 2 mpg is an extra 38 miles or $5 in your pocket every fill up.

Buying a small car won't reduce the number of fuel stops. Almost all vehicles have a range of 300-350 hwy miles. My Tacoma has a 21 gallon tank and is good for that. My Honda gets almost double the fuel mileage, but with a tank half as big. I actually can drive the Tacoma farther on a fill up than our Honda Fit.

I also have a 4X4 F-150 Screw with a 36 gal tank. I filled it up this AM with 540 miles since the last fill up. I only pumped 29 gallons. There were still 7 gallons in the tank and I could have gone another 100 miles.

But every time I look at the options for more fuel on the Tacoma it doesn't make economic sense except for occasional use. I can see extra cans for extended off road trips where fuel mileage is 6 or 7 mpg. Or emergencies. Prior to,and after Hurricane Irma lots of people from South Florida made the drive as far north as Chattanooga or farther north. I saw LOTS of cars on the road with 2-3 five gallon fuel cans strapped to roof racks. There were so many moving north that we had gas shortages all across GA.
