    I have a 2013 TRD sport.

and lately I hate it. Its small, small motor, small bed, i regret buying it. I miss the power of the V8, and the bed of a Fullsize.

I'm stuck with it for a few years atleast as I need to get the wife a new car before I can start to look.
I only owe $7k on it so thats a plus, but everything else, drives me nuts, dow nto the fact that there is no lighting in the bed at night, and the Fogs dont go on alone, only with the head lights.

    Help!

Does anyone properly test drive vehicles anymore? A spin around the block won't tell you anything. A good test drive should last about 30 minutes.

What was the reasoning for getting the Tacoma? Hopefully it wasn't for fuel mileage because that is the worst reason for buying one. Also, I have to agree with the above post about test drives. You can't learn about a vehicle with just a little spin around the block. It still amazes me that people will drop $30k on a product and know so little about it.

Hopefully I didn't sound too harsh but the fact of the matter is not one thing or things is going to make you love a Tacoma. You have to want it in the first place. I don't think you will will not be happy driving a Tacoma for a few years. Your best bet is to tell your S.O.(I know, it is hard to do and I usually don't recommend admitting to our mistakes) that you made a mistake and get the vehicle that suits your wants and needs.

I liked it when I drove it, It was basically this or a SUV with the wife, and its just the little things that have gone on me.

and I dont want to sound like i just jumped at it for the mpg (its a truck anything over 10 is great IMO) but for the size and as the compromise. My brother had one and he loves it, and from driving his for a week while he was out of town it seemed like something I could do.
But I also never loaded it with my dirtbikes or anything really heavy or anything.

I guess I'm looking for the Mods that wont break the bank to help me get over it.

I'm not the greatest with the electrical so that worries me and has been the big roadblock to doing any extra lighting, but i might have to start digging into it.

If you need help on DIY wiring of bed lights, that is what this forum and YouTube are for. Its the internet man, use it.

I have no electrical experience, but my recent CB radio wiring project got me started and it wasn't hard at all, and I even went the best route and soldered all my connections and heat shrinked.

Its fun to do, unless you just hate to DIY or are too afraid.

    THIS.

Just last night I installed a HyperTech Speedometer Calibrator last night on my own. A year ago, I would have never attempted this on my own. But doing research and having this forum really helped.

You came to the right place OP. Everyone is always super helpful and willing to lend a hand.

You shouldn't have to be convinced to love your truck...

I still love my truck as much today as I did the day I drove it off the lot!

First off, I hav ego admit I'm totally envious of your truck, OP. Mine is a little older and has a few miles on it (138,xxx). The fog light anytime mod is super easy, I've done it on several other Tacomas I've owned and had no issues at all. I owned 2 full size trucks, a Tundra and a Silverado, and for me, the Tacoma fits my needs better, so I understand the position you're in.
It's not what you're used to and may not fit your needs. At the end of the day, it's your choice. For what it's worth, I LOVED my Tundra, but just didn't need the size. Might be worth checking out for you.

    Good luck with your decision!
