First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
I have found that having a cap (shell) on my truck is the single most useful addition I have done to my truck. It's awesome! I can camp back there, goto garage sales, store stuff, my dogs, etc.

An aftermarket bumper like the All Pro will add weight to the front (80+ lbs) necessitating an upgrade to the front springs to have a decent ride.

The aftermarket bumper although better for slow speed hits like occur in off-roading will cause way more damage to your truck in an on-road accident.

I voted Bestop because I really want to get one of these soon.

Oh, and bc I already have the AP bumper. I don't off road much anymore, but the bumper is still bad ass. I always get looks because of it. But, the bestop is more functional

Allpro or Relentless bumper run around the same price. The Bestop will be worn and ragged but the bumpers will still be around.

Yea. the "at least I wasn't wearing my seatbelt" type thread. A bunch of conjecture and unmeasured chassis damage. Can see on one pic the frame looks tweaked, but that could be an illusion.

    Give it no creedence.

obviously a funny it by the look of the cube. That thing disintegrates on impact by design. Small impact from odd angle. FURTHERMORE, if your truck manages to hurt someone with your big ol lead weight, you might find yourself dealing with a litigious issue vis a vis your off road bumper and their dead passenger. They are NOT legal or intended for street use, as advertised in their installation instructions. They claim they are racing parts for off road racing. But, a little law suit vs damaging your headlights.. why not.

At any rate.. whatever you think, that link is one little anecdote. No information worth passing on.

    1.I dont give a fuck.
    2. im not buying one(im not hardcore enough)
    3. Im just saying that this bumper could def help in a collision with something near the road. not necessarily a car.

bestop, you may be able to build your own bumper but I doubt you can stitch yourself a bestop that doesn't look like a hobo quilt draped over your bed.....no offense

Bestop, I love mine. It's highly versitile and can be folded or removed in a matter of minutes.

Besides, building your own bumper sounds like a lot of fun and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself. Also, you can buy a lot of reusable tools with that 600 dollars that can be used for even more projects!
