Help me pick my new Taco today

That's a 2 model year difference, which is worth about the $2k/yr delta for similar trucks.

While the '19 has a pile of stuff on it, all that is 1/3-1/2 the installed cost in value. UNLESS it's 90% of what you'd do anyway.

The other big difference is long vs short bed. You are the only one who knows if that matters for how you'll use the truck.

Secondary differences are the head unit and power seat in the '21. How much do they matter to you?

Just pointing out stuff. I can't say what you need or my experience with either as I drive a '13 5 lug, which does all I need for 1/2 the price.

So I counted up the votes and it's heavily towards the 2021 so that's what I'm doing. Thank you all for your help. The truck should be arriving tonight or tomorrow. Now lets hope it doesn't have the crawl issue I spent 5 hours reading about. Anything else I should be aware of?

go new for a few thousand more. piece of mind cause you never know the underlying story behind the preowned vehicle.

 

Don't feel too bad, I'm only 35 and I still have to google a lot of the new slang and abbreviations to figure out what the hip new lingo is.

Car fax is no guarantee! It’s voluntary for insurance companies to report. My estimate is only about 60% do. If you buy the used one have it thoroughly checked - mechanically and by a body shop!

I was going to say to post a pic of the 2019 truck here, we may have recognized it and could maybe tell you why the previous owner traded it.

Like the guy who ripped his diff off while wheeling for example.

 

The 2021s are available now? I’m still waiting for a 20 that I requested in June!

 

I got it OTD for 41K. Pretty good deal. Its hard to negotiate right now with inventory levels where they are. There was 2 people trying to buy the truck while I was there. Basically worked out to about 3000 off MSRP.

 

What year model did you get... your vehicle description says 2020 but you mentioned 2021. Thanks.
