I struggled greatly with the issue of whether debadging my rig would be a poser or an anti-poser move. The physical quagmires that we prerunner guys are likely to get stuck in are truly nothing compared to the moral ones.

Yeah, I think it's funny how Toyota puts and "extra" badge on non 4x4 trucks. I guess they want you to think you're getting your money's worth.

At least you don't have a little low to the ground 5-lug truck.

what did you end up doing? I think the "PreRunner SR5 V6" badges on the back are a bit much, especially on a TRD Sport like mine. I'm thinking about taking off the SR5 V6 badges and just leaving Toyota Tacoma PreRunner on the rear, leaving the TRD stickers on the sides.

All badges are gone. Feels like the right decision.

OP, at 50+ pose the heck away and who cares... Unless she's in her 20's, and then maybe a little lift, viagra style.

The only way you could be a poser is if you put 4x4 mud flaps on your prerunner or something like that. There is nothing wrong with a lift and bigger tires on a prerunner.

After reading all the responses I think I will add a little lift and bigger tires. That should give me the "beef" I am looking for.

I have a 2013 long bed Sport 4x4 and there is so much information out there about what was level what was raked and what was squatting I ended up having to experiment and find out for myself. What I ended up doing was adding the Bilstein 5100's at the 1.75 setting on stock springs in the front and a 1" block in the rear; I reused the stock shocks. I changed from a highway tire to a 265/70-17, I went with Hankook Dynapro ATM's. if you have 16 rims it would be 265/75-16. This is how I was able to achieve the look I wanted. The truck has a little bit of rake to it just like stock and It gave just enough lift to make it look look beefy. I don't think I would go any higher, considering I don't really off-road and I still have small kids and They need to climb in it.image.jpg

Don't want to be a poser huh....you must not live in the DFW area. These guys run around with 4x2 trucks with enormous tires, lifts, bumpers, and of course.....light bars and color changing headlights. And they think it's cool. I just laugh and drive on. I doubt they care what anyone thinks of them and nor should you man. I want to slightly larger tires on my 4x2 with black wheels and that's about it....don't want to kill my MPG's for no reason.

If you like the way a scooped hood looks on your truck and the only thing stopping you is from being called a poser, then who the hell cares? If anything, I'd see that and think "This guy knows how to make a truck look good in a subtle way."

The longer I think about it, worrying and wondering what others think would put you closer to being a poser than turning a Prerunner into a legit off road vehicle....

Don't "pose", be what you want to be.....The hell with what everyone else might think!
