I have a 2007 Taco double cab. I am needing speakers, amp, and a sub. I have a kenwood head unit already installed. what do you guys recommend with a 600.00 budget. Now keep in mind this is a system for personal listening pleasure, not for show, rattle your buddies windows as you drive by. so send any recommendations you may have. Not worried about boxes, or installation.
    thanks in advance.

what kind of bass do you want? I know you said nothing showy, but can you get more specific? Maybe, 2 10s?

One 10 inch will prob be enough. Mostly wanting true rich clean sound for my personal use, as stated nothing for show.

Yes I was looking at running two channels for left and right front and rear and bridging the other two channels for the sub.

For what you have posted so far, I'd be looking at a 5 channel amp and a single 10. But, for my money and tastes, I woudn't be able to do all of it (amp, mids/highs, sub, wiring) for under $600.

If I were shopping for you, I would be looking for a nice new set of components up front, a set of coax's in the rear (I wouldn't put any speakers in the rear, but you seem to want them), a used 5 channel amp and a used 10" sub.

Pioneer has some pretty nice sounding components and coax's for that matter. I also like Infinity Reference speakers, but they do lack solid mid-bass. I'm kind of tired, so I'll stop there... someone else can add to that.

Get rid of anything sony that's on that list, speakers right? replace those with some polk or pioneers. I don't have any experience with that sub that you have, and, for the most part Dual isn't good stuff so I would look at replacing the amp.

    Everything else looks good though.

I personally am not a fan of Sony's line of mobile equipment, so I'd also suggest nixing the Sony and replace with Pioneer. I'd also drop Dual if the budget will allow.

The wiring kit, I'd get a 4 awg kit, so that you have some flexibility if you ever decided to provide more power for anything.

Do a search here for "Mr. Marv". Give him a call and he'll hook you up with whatever you need.

He does speaker baffles and sub boxes for Tacoma's mainly, but he's also an authorized Hybrid-Audio dealer and I know he can get you Image Dynamics stuff as well which would be a good option for at least the sub.

Hybrid has a new "Imagine" series line that supposed to be more affordable.

Maybe you could put something together for $600...or close to it.
