My wife and I got married in the Santa Cruz mountains (Big Basin Redwood Park) in September of 2018, was absolutely beautiful weather and scenery-wise. Then we spent a few days going down the coast through Big Sur camping in a couple areas, was a lot fun. Though I wish I had known about more offroad trails in that area back then.

haha luckily for you guys it's a far enough drive I don't think most people from around here want to do it very often this time of year...that long stretch through the Mojave desert right now is pretty brutal

Well... that's disappointing. I thought you were drafting a proposal to justify the tens of thousands of dollars in upgrades you were going to do to your truck...

    ;)

Can't offer any assistance, but GOOD LUCK!

I wish. Since COVID the traffic around here has doubled. Lots of people still make the trek to this incredibly shitty area. lol

yeah I can imagine, it's like that out here too in the forest/mountain areas. I thought our camping spots and trails were crowded before but Covid makes me long for those days. Its like suddenly they all realized that the mountains bordering LA county are real and not just holograms

I actually just got the truck delivered yesterday and inspected at Toyota in the afternoon, so it was a tight turn around lol.

Hey don't knock the comforts of an RTT, my daughter was conceived in mine. I can't wait to embarrass her with that story someday.

    (it actually wasn't very comfortable)

    But this is the proposal!

It all depends on the girl too. If she's down for the dirty dirty in a tent, then props to her.

I'm gonna name my kid "Vagabond" when I conceive them in it

If you're willing to drive that far I'd actually recommend heading out into Utah and getting out of the smoke. No ocean, but plenty of amazing views and a lack of people.

    Good luck with your proposal!!

    Also
    This is great.

We went to Zion late last year (in my Chevy volt though...) got a nice hotel nearby, did angels landing, the usual.

It appears we're leaning towards Big Sur area at this point.
