Just installed pro tails with meso stage 1 VLED leds. Everything went fine, but the reverse light on the drivers side has a yellow tint whereas the passenger side is bright white. Was the bulb sent the wrong color, is there something I can do to adjust this, or did I install it wrong? I can’t post pictures when I get home.

I’d ask the retailer or MFG, maybe email them pics

I sent them the question, I know meso has been busy and a little behind. Hoping to get a response soon. Didn’t know if anyone had any suggestions.

Pull the bulbs out and compare. Turn them on outside of the tail lamps to eliminate that. Swap sides.

You buy all these products new or is this like a used bundle from TW marketplace?

I bought them together off of the TW marketplace. Seller didn’t swap anything out or notice a color difference, but the difference is minor. The two bulbs on each side are both VLED brand and look the same.

If the color difference is minor, there’s nothing to “fix”. It is what it is for a used purchase.
Vled sells two color temps for the white of that switchback bulb. The site doesn’t have an option when I pull it up now (oos), but when I placed my order a month ago I was able to choose 6k or 5k.

I’m not accusing any one of anything or shitting on the user that sold them to you, but this is the gamble you take when you buy used. That listing was a great deal, and those bulbs are premium regardless of the color temp.
Ideas offered by Jesse H are great and will confirm if the bulbs are two different colors or not.
If it truly bothers you, your only option would be ordering another set in the temp you prefer. They are currently out of stock, and I’m not sure if Vleds will sell you a single but it couldn’t hurt to ask

Understood. I appreciate the feedback. It is strange that two different temperatures would be there though. Is the bottom bulb responsible for two different outputs? For instance it seems that when I press lock the drivers side looks more white whereas the passenger looks more yellow? I didn’t know if something with the wiring is telling the light to do the wrong color? It’s almost like it’s using the blinker color when in reverse, Instead of the white.

Best picture I could get for reference. Almost seems like it’s using the yellow color from the turn signal color when in reverse, instead of using the bright white like it should be.

The exact thing happened to me. Easy fix. It’s plugged in wrong. Turn one of them 180degree and it should function as it should. I called Vled corporate and that’s how you fix it.

    Oh my…
That’s exactly what’s happening. I apologize for assuming it was color temp!
Have you been able to try the suggestions from Jesse h? I ask because the plug for that bulb has an orientation, and while swapping sides you may orient it correctly.

The bulb in question is a “switchback” and responsible for both white and orange. On the connection for that bulb one side has a notch and the other side has a protrusion that fits into it, that would be my guess

Thanks. I will have to try it. I messed with it this morning but I was by myself so it was hard to tell which direction to turn it. Hopefully this will fix it!

No worries, I appreciate the suggestions. I’m going to try to rotate the bulb and see if that does it. It’s tough to do by yourself, I’ll have to get someone to reverse for me so I can adjust it correctly

I personally wouldn’t mess with the plugs with the power on, but don’t know for sure that it would do anything bad.
It’s easy enough to do alone with the truck off. The issue is on the drivers side and there’s two plugs for that light; the bulb going to the adapter harness and the harness to the oem plug.
I’d start with harness-oem plug and just flip it, then set the parking brake, turn it on, put it in reverse and get out and look.
If that didn’t work I’d check the bulb-harness plug, although idk how that could possibly be plugged in wrong

Sorry, but do I need to turn the bulb in the tail light housing 180 degrees or turn one of the connections at the harness 180 degrees?

Rotate the bulb 180degrees and the problem will be fixed. I had the exact issue.

How does rotating the bulb but leaving the the plug change anything?

I also installed the Vled by myself. I put my phone on record and set it down behind my bumper.

That’s what the service advisor at Vled told me to do when I ran into the same problem and it worked. I’m no electrician so I can’t tell you the reasoning behind it. Maybe the negatives and positives are positioned wrong. I don’t know. But is worked.
