Hummer may be going away and even if they don't, they don't hold their value very well. If you get an H3, make sure it has the v8 and it isn't brand new. You can probably get a killer deal on a used one. I would keep the Mustang if it were me, especially being upside down in the loan. Why lose more money on a car than you've already have? JMO.

edit. I agree with the other posters. When you do upsize, I would go 4-Runner too.

Didn't the '07 Sequoia only have one engine option? If you're looking at a '07+ Tundra or a '08+ Sequoia, the 4.7 liter has much less power and gets slightly worse fuel economy than the 5.7 liter.

As far as the OP's question, I'd go with the 4Runner. You're definitely gonna want a true 4 door for the baby over the 1/2 doors of the FJ.

I voted to keep the mustang because if you are already upside down, you probably shouldnt be digging the hole deeper especially with a baby on the way!

If you are set on buying a new car, then I would go with the 4Runner. They are great SUVs, spacious, comfortable, good looking, smooth ride and they will run forever!

Congrats on the baby on the way!! :)

I've been looking at one of those for my wife as well. I'm loving the newer styles. But man are they pricey.

For the OP, stick with the stang till your caught up then get a 4Runner. You'll run out of room quick with a newborn. It'll be a pain to load the carseat with those doors too.

I voted 4Runner. The mustang is going to continue to lose value. I don't believe you'll ever be right side up with payments on a domestic vehicle. Then again, it's easy for me to choose when my pocketbook isn't involved.

true true, she has always bought brand new cars... to me that just seems like a waste. I think her car only KBB's for like 15k right now... I dont even wanna know what she owes on it.
But to me the 4 runner seems to be the best one for our needs so far.

My wife likes her 4-runner, I would vore 4-runner or Highlander, however......

My vote is for the 4runner. I think it might be a better idea to keep the mustang for a while though. Just long enough to get even. Being upside down is not a good time to get into trading a vehicle. I have always liked the newer 4runners. Great SUV.

I put the Westin Bull Bar and Side Steps (in black) on.
Just my opinion, BUT I would favor the 4Runner for sure. My wife and I have a 2007 Tacoma and a 2008 4Runner. She LOVES the 4Runner and we a literally days away from our first kid. I would stay away from the FJ due to the 2 door aspect. Believe me, I like them, but it's not very practical for a baby. I almost bought one instead of the Tacoma. Bought a DC Tacoma instead. Very happy with the decision. There's my opinion. Good luck with the purchase and even more luck with the baby! :D

I would stay w/the mustang, but if she set on getting a new car go w/a 4runner the FJ are cool but the windows are really small which makes it difficult to park and stuff. BTW congrats on the baby.

Congrats on the baby, we are expecting as well. I would say the V8 Hummer used if not the 4runner, but also look out for the new explorer it is suppose to be really nice

thanks and congrats to you too! Im gonna have to say no on the ford though. haha Ive never been a fan. The only cool option the mustang has, I think a few other models have too, is that you can change the color of the gauges whenever you want by pushing a few buttons... Im always changing it!

They only had 4.7 option. I was just saying if looking for used because of the 5.7 option in the 08.
4.7 is a solid motor and a ton of power. I drove a 5.7 tundra and Jesus no woman with a lead foot, like my wife needs that kind of power.

I bought my wife SR5 4x4 seq for 30k with 29k miles on it threw Carmax. It came with the factory warrenty and also got the carcare 100k warrenty

maybe you could try a private party sale of the mustang to reduce the amount you are upside down to speed up the proccess. My experince is that you will get way more $ selling it private party than if you trade in.
