Polls not looking so good for me personally. The reason I picked this particular topic is Mrs Gunns recently said I was spending way too much on stuff for a new truck...

I do market research for a living. Online surveying is now practically the only way to collect primary data. But there are safeguards to ensure that the data collected is valid.

    The top 3 are:
    1. Start with a representative sample - gotta make sure the composition of the sample answering the survey reflects the population at large
    2. Use a good quality panel - some are better than others
    3. Questionnaire design - avoid leading questions, two-barreled questions, use simple language, etc.

Didn't do any mods right away, except get the windows tinted, and replace the wheels and tires. Which was probably just under 2k.

I needed to buy a camper shell for my dog as soon as I bought my truck. That put me over.

Why do I get the feeling that most data collected really isn't of any value. Sure somone(corporation) will buy any data they deem valuable, which is good for anyone who can make a dime collecting data.

I don't think the data, helps corporations earn any more revenue than they would have with out this data.

Corporations, stop wasting the consumers money on unnecessary data.
