I just bought my 07 about 3 weeks ago and they had no 4x4's in stock. I told them exactly what I wanted and they searched for it. They found 1 on a train heading to a dealer in St. Louis. He got the truck for me for no added cost. They also dealed with me on the truck as though it were in stock. Like someone earlier stated, I think they just traded another vehicle with the other dealer to get it. However, I did have 280 miles on my new truck due to the drive here from St Louis. I was just happy to have the exact truck I wanted at a reasonable cost.

Thanks for the input Rhoppas. I talked with a random dealership about that and he said getting another vehicle from a different dealership should not affect the price negotiations. Since I am 100 percent committed to buying a 2008, I think most Tacomas are coming directly from manufacturer anyway. Therefore there is a good chance that the dealerships probaly will not have to go to another dealership, if it's coming directly off the factory line. Well, I believe I have come to a decision and purchased the Tacoma I wanted. I only got about 1k off and even though I know you guys said the warranty should have played a part, I just couldn't get it off my mind. Also the convienance of location and the free advantages offered by this dealership sounded pretty good. Lastly, I just had to have the 2008 model ASAP. I should have the truck next week and thank you all again for your input and assistance. Believe it or not, it certainly did help. You guys rock! Later!

You can get invoice buy simply going to www.carsdirect.com !!!!! Get your finance in order, know your credit score, tell them what you want and start calling around!! Carsdirct will breakdown everything including options, you select it then have it emailed to dealers. Let them come/call you. Don't take a second color, or second option.....get what you want because you won't be happy otherwise.

If you go to www.edmunds.com and do the same thing, they'll beakdown the price by what's list price, invoice and what other people in your area are getting.

Oh, going on a friday near the end of the month also put's more pressure on them because they my be trying to fill a quota for the month. They might be more motivated to sell you something at your price.

Just my two cents that worked for me!!!

The truck is a Access cab, 4x4, 5 spd auto, TRD Offroad, towing package, and v6. I would have liked the Double cab but they didn't offer it with the standard 6 ft bed WITH the TRD offroad. They only offered this with the TRD sports
I will try to post pics and there is no way I'm am going anywhere. You guys were all helpful and quick to response. Oh yea ndcouch, I have seen some of the "sarcasm and BS" you post :D J/K! But thanks again all.

    TRDfly,
Thanks for the web links. I will surely remember those sites for my next vehicle purchase. That method seems real convienent and seems it could be done all behind my desk without actually going anywhere.

    Later.
