So I'm replacing the needle bearing with the upgrade from east coat great supply, and the removal tool broke with the bearing about halfway out. With no way to pull it out the rest of the way, I decided to hammer it back in with the installation tool, but with about 1/4" left, the damn things won't budge. What are my options here?

    The broken tool:

I don't, unfortunately. It's something I've been wanting to learn for a while now.

What is the percentage that bearing came out b4 tool broke?

also assuming that spindle still attached correct?

I would stop and attempt to get another puller. Hate to see you try and get it back in and end up even more bound up. There are other "methods" to remove it but they'll all be harder then getting another tool.

I'd say it was roughly half way out, and yes, the spindle is still attached.

I might have one. If anything else, I can make a quick trip to the hardware store. What do you have in mind?

I wouldn’t have hammered it back in
Get another puller, make sure you are using it the correct direction, and if it gets stuck again, start trying different things. Locking pliers with a slide hammer attachment, internal pullers, whatever you can figure out

get a nut that threads on the puller. find the thickness of the "flanged" portion, im assuming it close to a 1/4 inch in thickness. get some metal and trace the shape of the flanged portion and cut it out. drill a hole through the center of your new cut flange and jb weld the nut onto it making sure your puller will thread all the way through. you'll want to use the newly made nut reversed of how you would normally sit it behind the needle bearing so you wouldnt risk pulling the nut off of the jb welded plate

I'll have to give this a shot. It'll probably have to wait until tomorrow though.

I see no problem with gently stuffing a paper towel behind the bearing assembly, just in case.

FYI, the seal looks buggered too... I'd plan on replacing that as well.

I've got a replacement ready to go as well, but thanks for the heads up!

Worst case you can stuff a rag behind it and take a Dremel and grind a slit in it and pull it out. Another option is to remove the passanger side add tube and then you can stick a long punch or screw driver through the diff and tap it out.

Buy a new tool and wait till it gets delivered, or take the broken tool have it welded and threaded?

Removing the ADD tube might be the easier option. I'll have to give that a go if I can't source another removal tool.

Might could try using 2 pieces of metal.
