I've posted about this before but now I have an update. Ok bought the truck a month ago knowing it had a oil leak. I had no idea till I took off the skid plate. It is a 99 2.7 manual transmission 4x4. It was leaking badly from the oil pump cover. I figured that was it. No big deal I fixed it last weekend. So it is still leaking on the passenger side. I took it to a car wash today and degreased it and washed the engine. Went for a drive. Here is what I found it is leaking above the oil pan and in the area of passenger side motor mount. That is where it is wet. It is not wet by the oil filter housing. Just motor mount area. Is it timing cover leaking and down to motor mount? I can't see much of the timing cover because of the ac compressor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Ok I hosed off again where I can see the timing cover better. I don't see any leaks there either. I can't figure this out. I've got the bottom of the motor a lot cleaner. I'm going to drive a good distance and see what I can find.

I thought about that. I can't post pictures on the forum. Thanks for the reply.

are you 100% sure its not the filter housing? Mine was leaking like a mofo where the housing bolts to the block. $20 for 2 o-rings, and fifteen minutes later no more oil leak.

Where you are describing is exactly below the filter. Start simple and just but a new filter on it. Be aware, there is almost no chance of spilling oil when you remove that filter.

I changed oil last weekend when I did oil pump O ring. The bottom and passenger side of this motor was coated with years of oil and dirt. I've about got most of it off. There is no oil around the oil filter. Only place I'm seeing oil is where the bolts for the motor mounts go into the block then it flows back from there a little. I would say it's almost like its leaking through the motor mount bolts. If that makes since. Thanks

Valve cover isn't leaking. I'm not sure about rear main and I'm not too concerned with it. If I figure this leak out rear main ain't that big of a deal.
