HELP OME 887 on a 2015 Tacoma-I'm told ARB doesn't list them...

I'm not new to this forum, nor am I new on how to search for information.

I'm currently running 885/billies 5100 and the standard Dakar leaf pack. I called my local suspension shop and told them I wanted to replace the OME 885 coils with 887 coils.

The response I got is confusing me. I'm told the ARB website doesn't list the 887 for the 2015 and that it's only listed for the 2016 at 2" of lift.

    OME 2015 Application.jpg

    OME 2016 Application.jpg

Can anyone shed some light on this for me. I know a lot of people on this forum are running the 887 coil on the 2015 so I'm not sure why ARB wouldn't list them as working on the 2015.

    Help!!

2015 Tacoma here. I run 887's with a top plate spacer, aluminum bumper and Warn M8000 with synthetic line - about 90 extra pounds up front over stock. It gave me just under 3 inches lift and rides great. Expect about 2 1/2" with no spacer and stock front end. The 887 is "not tested" by ARB but will work just fine - spring load is the same as the 885 but with an extra half inch or so of coil length.

That extra 1/2" of lift will probably limit your ability to get the truck properly aligned with stock upper control arms.

Happy to help. I noticed that there is now an 888 spring listed as well. It's 5mm longer than the 887 :muscleflexing: but all other specs are the same as the 885/887. I don't recall seeing it as an option when I fit my 887's, might have been introduced for the 2016s. :notsure:

888 is brand new for 2016s, it's essentially the 2016 version of the 887.

    You don't see the 887 for a Tacoma because it's a 4Runner coil.

The 887 is a 2" coil on 2016s because the 2016s are an inch higher than the second gen trucks, so every coil/5100 setup is an inch shorter on those trucks than they were for the 2005-2015s.

...very interesting but .5mm isn't going to make much of a difference over the 887....

    Thanks for the info gents.

Actually that 5mm (not 0.5mm) will translate into an additional 10mm or ~1/2" of lift.

I'm too rusty on my spring physics to explain. Flame on.

Do you know how much lift 887's would give a 2016 Tacoma double cab 2wd?

ARB quotes 2" if you look at the chart above.

Edit: That's with bumper, so probably 3"

Oh ok thanks, yeah I'm looking for a 2 inch lift on my 16' pre runner so I'll probably go with the 887's on 5100's

@luchin, did you end up getting the 887's? Are you wanting to sell the 885's? PM me if so.
