Just take your time for me because here in NC I was working in 90 to 95 degree heat was to soak it in whatever penetrating fluid your using let it set. You just got the extractor in there it created heat so again use a hammer and give it some hard taps. Then walk away an cool off get a drink and try to find a way to add length to whatever your are using to remove the bit.

yeah u can't use a crescent on that extractor. Before you give the bolt a go I'd smack the casting a couple times with a hammer and heat treat it to make sure it breaks lose.

Ehhh… I would be VERY careful apply too much leverage to that extractor. They are harder than the hubs of hell and twice as brittle. I would not use anything but a regular ratchet; no snipe or "cheater" extension on it. What I would get is heat. LOTS of heat. Heat is your friend in situations like this. At minimum a propane or better yet MAPP gas torch, ideally, if you know someone with an oxy-acetylene set-up. On the plus side, you've got a good hole, pretty much centered. I would make that hole as big as you can (even if means buying a larger extractor), and drilling it right through... the less metal in the threads, the easier it will come out.

This is all about patience. Patience and a LOT of profanity are the keys to stuck bolt removal. You've got this!

Another thing to keep in mind with extractors is the bigger the hole you drill the less strength the bolt has, the extractor works by pulling itself into the bolt and can cause it to expand and make it tighter yet.

The piece of pipe I used was steel pipe from Tractor Supply it was 6.99 you guys are west coast so dont know if you have those out there or not. But that extra 2 feet made it happen. I had an impact but avoided it after about 3 or 4 taps didnt budge mine. They are a major PIA but thankfully you dont have the rust like we do out here or at least as much of it.

Lots of heat, and a dose or two of Kroil, or poor man's version ATF and acetone, 50/50 mix. Then lots more heat!!!

Okay, the heads have gone up a bit... $40 for a cylinder and inexpensive torch head, so a touch over $30 US.

Good luck OP. My experience is that bolt extraction is never easy. I'm probably 50/50 in lifetime attempts. You'll feel like a champion if you get that thing out though.

Just make sure once you get it fixed (AND YOU WILL) that when you see your buddies you just lean against your truck casually and say "Yeah had a bolt break on my truck....fixed it in 30 minutes! No big deal"

Propane torch heat is better than nothing.
You should be able to get one pretty cheap.
You go crazy on that extractor and it will snap!
    Good luck

x3 Hit it with some PB Blaster, it's a lubricant that can be found at any auto parts store. Buy a torch and give it some heat!

If you can't get it out with the extractor, drill all the way through it and you may be able to pull it out in pieces.
