Pretty cheap money. I'd do it.

    Stock
Credit and on going credit is the way to go. I hate making payments and currently me and my wife only have our home and my truck. We actually bought the truck because we wanted to improve our scores.

Buy the truck. Sounds like a good deal. And putting down 30% will make the payment more than reasonable. 450 ish a month?

I actually do have an idea how many people are upside down on loans el tardo, ive been in the business for awhile and the amount you finance and what you finance is a factor! Ability to repay is a guess on the banks part and is almost entirely based on credit. I'm not really sure where your comment about inequity came from, but, I've tried getting a supercharger rolled in and it wouldn't go. I'm sure some dealerships bend rules, I'm not debating that. Every region has different TFS people making decisions so maybe ours are just dicks! Toyota can strip dealerships of inventory if they get audited and get busted for "bending" the rules, so most could care less if somebody wants to finance the supercharger or not. There isn't any profit most of the time anyway. Go ahead and bash away and tell me how dumb I am.

Now the only thing thats pulling me back to completely nab this deal is they want $500 to ship it to their closer facility here in so cal.
So i'm talking to another dealership maybe they will match or even go lower?
Who knows but id wait if I can scratch off some bucks ;)

Someone chime in: Is that a situation where you can tell the dealer that if they want that sale and your interest, they can ship it themselves?

Have you checked with Sparks Toyota in Florida? I heard they are pretty cheap, not sure if that's true.

I've also have heard this. It was in print on a promotional brochure.

Don't forget the "chip" (program flash) another $400+:D

If they're willing to bend Toyotas rules, what does that say about their integrity. When you bring in your truck for service can you really trust them to do the job right?

The only way I have found to get away from shipping/destination charges is to buy used.

I looked into the supercharger from the dealer.. my experience is that Toyota isn't supposed to finance superchargers, but your dealer will more than likely put it through as "$5000 in unspecified accessories".

If he's putting money down (30% as stated before), he isn't technically financing the supercharger. He'd be paying cash for that & financing the rest.

Unless you have limited credit history, you shouldn't have to put down 30% to get 2.49% apr. I got better than that without without a down payment stipulation.

Correction reflash is only $110 not $400+ I already asked my dealer and several people on here already concur with me.

I know they screw you with apr on tacoma's since "they have popular demand?"
What APR did you get and how?

first thing with credit is your score(700+ is a great score)
    second is your credit history
loan amounts and how long you have been making payments(credit history)

what i see is if the dealer is asking for 30% down is the OP never financed a car before or very limited credit history, which is fine.

then with the TMCC (toyota credit corp)
there are tier rates based on above
the op is probably a tier 2 approval and thats why his rate is a little higher then the best rate out.
the tier system goes upto tier 4,one beaning the best and tier 4 the worst.

the only thing i read that BS is the $500 charge for a dealer trade.
fyi they send the salesman that is getting the commission on your sale to fetch the car and that cost the dealer nothing.

all dealers can trade inventory with any other dealer for free and doesnt hurt there floor plan.
sound like the options or color the op wants isnt on the dealers lot and they have to get it from another dealer,i have sent a sales person from ventura to san diego to get a car before, thats a long drive but for a sale a dealer will do anything.

now as far as financing a super charger
toyota finance portal as its called(internet)
they only ask the sales price and invoice and line 7 on the 553 contract
its just math, there is nothing saying what you can or can not finance
they do cap what you can sell- gap and a warranty
but bottom line look at your paper work(contract) and look at your line 7 and its the amount financed(what toyota gives you a loan for)

remember dealers are trained very well in playing games to get the upper hand.
example- i have bought and sold over thousands of cars in my 20yrs and most of you have only bought and sold one or two in that same time. whos going to know more?

and Lord helmet doesnt know crap

and if anybody needs help buying a car or how it works, PM me and i'll give you my phone number and i can answer any question there is. (besides lord helmet cause hes so smart already)
